My guess.. 1. He wants to play RB 2. He is doing his Homework and knows that there are 3 studs in class before him and they may have to wait to get on the field..so he will to wait that much longer...UF needs LBs right now...These kids want to play.. And they will go where they can play early...He knows Shaq and Mike played against Shaq in a camp setting... He know what they are capable of...We did the same thing UF AU UGA UM MICH were Shaq's choices cause they had the biggest need...Bama has 5* backing up 5*...OSU has a stud fresh. 5*..its a business for the school and the kids alike

Frank Gore committed here when Willis Mcgahee was 3rd string behind Portis and James Jackson... But, as Butch said, one of the main characteristics he looked for is a player not caring about who was infront of him.
B.B.B hypothetically. ..you have a son and he is a pretty good RB and he loves Metro U...but Metro U already have the top three RBs in the Nation committed in the same class...how do you advise your son?
Tell him he better get used to competing and quit trying to be a depth chart scientist. He'll have to compete his whole life, so he better get used to it.

Go interview for a real job after college and tell the company you don't want them interviewing any other good candidates. See how that pu$$y **** works out.

no need for the new staff to honor the previous staff's verbals. They will identify and recruit their own guys. Ross should open up at some point also.

I understand that the new staff should not be at all obligated to honor the committiments of the previous staff but that cannot be what is going here. Kearney can play and I'm sure the staff wants him. This must be coming from his end not UM's. It's the only thing that makes any sense.

I understand that the new staff should not be at all obligated to honor the committiments of the previous staff but that doesn't really apply here because in Kearney's case he is an excellent prospect that the new staff should want. I have not watched any of his film yet but from most accounts he is definitely UM caliber.

The staff's board looks much different than ours....they will get the best players

I'm guessing Kearney wanted to open up his crooting and Canes b chasing afta him again.

I tends to agree...grab what you can as fast as you can as the ship is sinking

Fair enough.

**** man every recruit I actually like decommits and plays else where

Lawson

Nkosi

Now this kid.

Lawson would have reshirted last year here and be a backup for at least this year... he played 4 games for VT and can start this year.
Nkosi May not want to wait behind Kaya and Jack next year.
Kearney like UKnowWhat mentioned may not like the 3 guys in front of him and all the guys we are offering.

The good news is that we have studs at all these position currently and committed.
Good point we had a CB from Shaq's team that wanted and would RS at AU...went to Kentucy and was SEC Defensive Player of the week for one game...He developed a lot more by starting at Ken than RS at AU...he developed.. his confidence is up...he is now position himself for 3 and out

On the other hand, what happens if that CB at Kentucky is a junior and in walks into campus a freshman who is better than him, and at a perennially
struggling school like Kentucky whose coaches can't afford to play favorites because their collective jobs are on the line?
He will be sitting behind that frosh.
This is why I never understood why kids focused so much on the roster because it is not really the upperclassmen he should be
worried about, it is going to be the kids who come in after his class, and there is nothing he can do about that or even
predict.

Its like Italian driving.. what ever is in the rear view mirror is not important. . And like you said can't worry about the things you can't change

I agree the kid is one **** of a RB too. It's hard to sell him on coming to Miami when he knows two guys that are good LBs from his area that just committed to play his second favorite position.

I am hearing he may want to play RB.

1. Wilder
2. Steed
3. Marchiol
4. Houston
5. Nate McBride
6. Miller

Edit: Hard to put Dunning on the list if he isn't even being contacted
