the fantasy that some people apparently have that an NFL scout is going to take over the program and recruit specifically the players obsessed with by this message board is very funny

So you wouldn’t want a guy that knows how to evaluate talent and has been in enough organizations to know how to run a college program?

It really depends on what the scope of his responsibilities are before you all get excited

this could be anything from him being a puppet to actually having a meaningful say in recruiting strategy, hiring and firing decisions etc

i have no idea that he knows how to evaluate talent, and being an NFL scout doesn't mean you know how to run a high level college program

but my point was about some posters obsessions with evaluating people based on whether they did or would have offered or recruited henry parrish and ruben hyppolite

I have no idea if this will actually come to fruition or if it will actually work.

But...

The alternative is a bunch of bozos not getting anything done. I'll take it.

Someone on Twitter said in the interview James did, that this COS position would "answer to Manny" (paraphrasing). Can anyone who heard the interview confirm? That would put a damper on the optimism

Somebody for the love of God, please send this to everyone in the Athletic Dept. Send it to anyone that will listen.

Blake James is so incompetent that he can't even make up his own title, he has to steal FSU's name for the job.

Chief of Staff - SUCKS!!

A guy that's climbed the ladder from a scout to VP of Player Personnel for the Packers and Browns, UM legend, and 30 years around the NFL. Nah. pass. No room here for a guy that's evaluated talent for 25 years at the highest level, talked with and observed every legitimate college program in the last decade, and built relationships and inroads with hundreds of coaches at every level.
Stop it. Making too much sense for the some of the morons here.
