This kids' parents pretending they actually cared about this stuff was the equivalent of "thoughts and prayers" and anyone who fell for it hasn't been paying attention to recruiting in South Florida for the past 10 years.

why are people surprised?
Urban is an elite recruiter
he probably flipped the situation to his favor
i can def see him telling battle that if he would go out on a limb and risk his career for his coach he would do much more for his players
 
Urban MEyer is likely the best recruiter in the game. Dude lies like no other...way better than guys like Saban

I think you are struggling with the definition of the word "fan".

But to address your point,, it wold be like living on the same corner as Miami Northwestern HS, having the Bulls coach actively recruit you and tell you that you're his #1 guy at S, then deciding to play for Miami Central instead. Now, if the Bulls coach had ignored you and the Rockets coach had been all over you, different story. I think everyone would understand and support the kid like they did with kids like Skai Moore in past cycle.

This is Mark Richt (and Manny Diaz) vs Urban Meyer we're talking about. You can make a good argument Meyer has more recent history getting his DBs to go high in the draft. But that wasn't the argument, it was that he had developed a strong bond with Meyer. The same guy who was then exposed to have lied about a wife abuser and was irritated with the media about being called to question for it. This a few years after building a poisonous culture at Florida that allowed guys to get away with murder and mayhem (literally). Battle should just say what he and his family are really thinking, that it is a business decision. Then look stupid when Jackson, Johnson and Redwine all start for the NFL next year.

Do kids like Battle get **** from people in Miami during the recruiting process? Not online, I mean face to face? He's annoying me although he hasn't done anything really wrong. I guess the better question is do local kids that troll Miami get a lot of **** after they commit elsewhere? Just curious, I sure hope they do.

Keep recruiting the **** out of him and you never know what will transpire, especially if Miami starts winning convincingly.
