Latest on Battle

No reason to get crazy - this was posted on TOS. FWIW, Ivins doesn't even think the guy who put the CB in ever spoke to Battle

Drumm Beat, Sept 24 PM: Four-Star Florida Trio Visiting OU

Honestly, it appears to me that Battle is looking to go anywhere besides here. To commit to a team that basically said, ‘hold on playa; we got someone higher than u, so if that don’t work out then we’ll holla at u’ is sickening in itself. To stay firm to a commitment to a coach who already have proven to be one of the sleeziest scum buckets of the earth, is all we need to know. It’s time to move on.

We kinda did that to Cornelius Nunn though...Besides the sleaziest scum bucket part

It’s why I’m a firm believer of not slow playing talent. If u got a kid top on ur board, cool, but don’t diss another talented kid in the process.

Looking at Nunn, **** be the ratings, dude should’ve been up on our board, and a whole bunch of guys on here were clamoring for him at the beginning of this cycle.

We’re not in the position to slow play talent. Maybe after # 6 and we consistently pump out 1st rounders, then we can possibly slow play. Until then, we’ll be stuck w offering a bunch of projects.

We did it with Kenny Logan not Nunn.

Nunn is more like "Momma said I cant play for Miami"

Nunn tried to commit immediately when "offered" and the coaches didn't accept. They were still counting on a few guys ahead of him at S. There's been no momma problem until now that he's enjoying the recruiting process.

Yea that poster that got killed on here was right, someone on the WEZ called it and I knew it was true especially when the WEZ says it there recruiting board is great. That kid does not want to come here and we will always be 2nd, hes trying to make a fool of us.

It’s been reported by multiple sites he has a commitable offer, he’s open to commit whenever he wants. The staff is pushing for him , Battle and Ts has no affect on him.

Don't the coaches run a policy of not accepting commitments immediately. Especially after a visit.

They want the player to take themselves out of that environment, get off that emotional high and be sure it's the commitment they want to make.

Nothing wrong with that.

Do kids like Battle get **** from people in Miami during the recruiting process? Not online, I mean face to face? He's annoying me although he hasn't done anything really wrong. I guess the better question is do local kids that troll Miami get a lot of **** after they commit elsewhere? Just curious, I sure hope they do.

They don't. This isn't like SEC country, or places like Texas. Ask that DT Coburn or whatever from Houston who flirted with us while committed to UT.

Honestly Im quoting your post again, it might be in this thread im not sure and Im not willing to look. The poster said he doesnt want to come here and he got ripped but some stories sound true and when I read it I felt like the person posting was keeping it real. It just felt like it was the truth it wasnt just to believe a negative but the way Battles recruitment was it was like he was bullshyttin

Bro, listen; I might be negged for this, but anyone who know me on this board know where my heart is and it’s with these Canes. I don’t deal w fantasy like I did 10 yrs ago, I deal in reality. Reality is, we are not an elite program....yet. We can’t think everyone that says someone is not coming is a troll. Right now, it’s probably more real than troll.

Tradition don’t mean chit if u ain’t winning. I have to recant a statement I made on this board, and one of the homies had to remind me of it; what we’re experiencing is the same thing USC experienced back in the 90’s. Washington, Colorado, & UCLA became good b/c SC was trash w trash coaches! Why? B/c So Cal kids was flocking from the back yard. Yes, they picked up a blue chip from the turf every now and then b/c some kids are going to go w the home team, but most of So Cal blue chips were fleeing the coup.

Bama experienced this, UGA prior to Richt experienced this, ND experienced this....even with bags. What changed? Winning w the right coach. We just need to win, win often, and pump out first rounders. Pete turned SC around AFTER they won that Orange Bowl.

Losing like we did to end the season, hurt. I know for a fact a couple of recruits were still considering us, but ****, u can’t go on losing streaks and these schools negatively recruiting against us look like fortune tellers.

We just gotta win, man. F bags....win, put these young men on the forefront of every NFL scout, and they’ll stay home, and we get some blu chip outta towners, too.

OSU, Bama, LSU (w DBs)...all these schools picking up 5 stars b/c they providing 5 star results whether on the field or w the NFL draft. We’ve been providing 3 star on the field results and w the draft, lately. Turn that around, and we won’t be having too many threads like this.

I think the relationships Mr is building will pay off later on, who knows if it will be for the next HC. Pete locked down socal thats why that team rose then he started mixing that with OOS elites like what butch did here.

But ppl don’t know, parents weren’t feelin Pete like that. Trust; I got homies that played on SC from 02-05. Ppl knew Pete for choking as a NFL head coach, they didn’t want him there! Lol.

When Pete went 6-6 that first year, everybody was ready to fire him. When he started 3-2 in that 2002-03 season, losing to two top 25 teams, it was a mad house (I remember very specifically my home boy slamming his beer on the table at Claims Jumper when they lost to WASU in OT that year and everyone cursing Carroll).

Then SC won all their games to finish their season, and Palmer won the Heisman. They capped off that season w a blow out of the # 5 team in the nation, in a BCS bowl game.

That changed EVERYTHING. Now top QBs wanted to come, now Pete could be heard in parent’s homes and his msg of a master plan sounded good. That’s when So Cal from the Valley all the way down to San Diego could be locked down, while he was able to poach a top ranked Colorado kid (L. White) or a top ranked Louisiana Kid (J David Booty).

Winning, man. Kids wanna play for winners. If we go undefeated to end this year, bro...maybe losing the ACCCG but winning our Bowl Game, we can change some minds.

That’s y I said, no more long losing streaks.

Yeah it looks like we owe him an apology on that one. Every time we keep hearing about a new leader (still committed to Ohio State despite all the bull **** with Meyer), then Oklahoma's coming into the picture. In the end, he probably didn't like the poor/late evaluation by the staff.

I think that excuse is a cop out and the gf excuse is a cop out too, when they use those excuses they bullshyttin to me.
