Larry Scott new TE coach

What I like most about this, is Scott is used to working with a ton of SoFla schools...big schools, small schools and everything in between and he's got a ton of good relationships. So, if you are a coach that feels slighted in some way, because we haven't looked at some mid-tier prospect they have, this is the type of guy they already have a relationship with and know won't slick talk'em or bull****'em.

I agree. We're getting a guy that knows the area and doesnt need to start relationships and now he has a much better product to sell.

This guy seems like he might be a monster down here recruiting.

I also hope he has good connections in the Tampa/ st Pete area, I know most go to uf or fsu but we've had success there with guys like chick, McCord and jenkins

nice pick up for you Cane's Jimbo is an idiot for not getting Scott but that is what I expect out of him

you do know we hate Gators way more then Seminoles right?

False.

HUH?? dont think i'm alone when i say that the Cane nation doesnt like FSU but def respects them for ALWAYS facing the most feared team in College football for decades while UF, ND, and all the other homo institutions ran from scheduling us then talked **** about being better then us! Maybe i'm alone here, but i doubt it

Like Bowden said "put on my tombstone, he played Miami"

No I don't respect FSU at all. I think they're nothing but a small-time pretender in everything they do with a trashy fan base.

+1

Very good hire and thought I try not to read too much into it, but **** it is hard not to, that is 3 great hires from a recruiting standpoint, including Cristobal at the time. All 3 we were going head to head against FSU and one we took from them who was already on staff. All this with this NCAA bs cloud hanging over. Now that is a subject that must have been discussed with these coaches, and apparently the message had to have been good enough for these coaches to choose us, plus the opportunity to work for a really well respected coach amongst the coaching circles in Al Magnus Golden. I have to believe that internally the program and administration feel good regarding the ncaa mess, or these guys would not have come, especially Coley. Either way from a recruiting standpoint very good hire.

Also with Cristobal, I understand it sucks him going, but also I understand him taking the job 3 times the pay and working for the top program in the country. And if it's true what my buddy was told, Cristobal went back to UM and gave them a chance to match the offer. If it is true that he did that, then he did do at least from that end the right thing of giving UM a chance to match the offer, and again 3 times the money you are making is a lot to pass up especially considering the program he was going to. His only responsibility is to put his and his family's career and income potential in the best possible situation. As a UM fan it sucks and we don't like it, but as a father and a man, I doubt anybody here would not have done what he did, and would also be fair enough to at least have the U to match the offer.

Totally agree with you. I would do the same thing, as much as i would hate leaving UM. I would have to think about my family and kids, especially in case something unexpected happened to me.

I'm really excited about this hire.

If you remember when Golden first got here; he echoed schnellenberger in that if he could lock down South Florida recruiting, he'd never need to go anywhere else. If you look at all of his assistant hires (Coley, Scott, Cristobal), he has continuously targeted those with ties to the SoFla area. No need to go get an assistant with a specialty in Georgia recruiting or elsewhere, win from within the "State of Miami."

Just another example of why Im going brick-by-brick with Alfred James Golden

The man knows what he's doing....
