Ya I think it's questionable whether we were all out for this kid.

He has some instincts sure...But that was a bad, bad, bad North Texas defense.

We are thin at LB. The two deep is Mauigoa and Flagg at MLB and Bissainthe and Keontra Smith at WLB (unless Chase Smith develops (fingers crossed) and surpasses Keontra).

I believe we want this kid at WLB. The depth there is a bit better than MLB, but we are one injury away from a pretty bad situation at LB IMO. Would hate to miss on this kid.

I would hope that at least one maybe two of the freshman linebackers are able to contribute this year. That is a talented group.

Washington is playing SLB I believe. Think I read that Bryant is more likely to be an EDGE guy. And Aguirre and Pulliam are summer arrivals, so hard to bank on them being ready to play meaningful snaps early in the season (other than special teams). They are definitely talented though.

Bryant will be a linebacker here. He might start out being used more situationally on obvious pass downs since he definitely has a natural ability to come off the edge.

Maybe the kid has an affinity for cow tipping and thinks he'll be able to enjoy that more in Auburn

Wait, did he really say that in that article posted?

He did, but its from the AUB site and I get a feeling they were being selective and spinny, but feels like they lead. Key parts:

The graduate transfer with one year of eligibility left visited Miami last weekend, Auburn on Thursday and Friday and is set to visit West Virginia on Sunday and Monday.

"Then after that make my decision by Tuesday," Nixon III said.

Auburn is going to be tough to beat. "Right now, it’s up there right now," Nixon III said with a smile. "Being in Auburn, it’s crazy. You can’t beat that stadium, being in the SEC."

Did his Auburn visit beat Miami? "Yeah just as in like the campus and the stadium-wise," Nixon III said.

Auburn's whole staff stuck out in a big way to the transfer linebacker.

"It went really well today," Nixon III said. "Good, great visit. Atmosphere here is great. Love the stadium especially. Love the coaches here, Hugh (Freeze) did a great job getting everybody here. Excited to see where everything goes.

we’re certainly not appearing to have the week that was expected coming off the barrage of visits. This isn’t the first time it’s happened either. Guess things change, or the staff was over-confident.

This isn’t me complaining about the overall picture; it’s just getting hopes up in the moment and then not living up to it is all too common with this program. I guess I’m used to it lol; but it’s certainly not for a lack of effort recruiting wise.

Feeling doubtful on Rose, just really want Kirk and Campbell at this point.

Those 2nd tier schools that are in the SEC sure love to push the conference angle!

Hey come here so you can go 6-6 and get the crap beat out of you by Alabama and Georgia! Yay

People need to get perspective. We're just not good. SEC second tier? What's it like to be second tier in the ACC? http://mcubed.net/ncaaf/tvc/miaf/acc.shtml

You do realize we've never won the ACC, right? We've won 10 games in a season, once, since 2004. Last year 20 of the final top 25 teams won 10 games. We won 5. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/rankings/ap/

We are 33-25 over the past 5 years. That is a long time in the college football world (https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/miami-fl/index.html). Simply put, this ain't the late 80's, or 2001. This is the current reality, and it's been that way for a couple decades now.

Maybe our $80 million is well spent, maybe not. Maybe our collectives make a football difference, maybe not as other schools have those, too. But we need to stop acting as if we are entitled to a seat at the big boys' table. Once upon a time we kicked in the door and ******* took one, but we didn't keep it.
