Lane Kiffin

So let me get this straight:

1. Kid was underperforming, thought he should keep his spot, but Lane told him he’s being moved to scout team.

2. The kid didn’t want to move to scout team, so he conveniently said he’s going on a mental break.

3. The HC tried to reach him for several weeks & was brushed off

4. The kid was aware of the HC reaching out to him, yet willfully ignored him b/c it wasn’t on his timeline

5. He’s a scholarship player

I wish I could’ve done this w/ my employees, u know, tell them I’m taking a mental break & ghost them. Whats interesting is that in the real world, when u take a mental break, usually there’s some sort of FMLA paperwork that comes along w/ it. Usually there’s some sort of communication between urself and HR or a direct employer. U don’t get to go AWOL w/ no repercussions.

Then u want to sue for $40m?? Lol. Homie, there’s a good chance u will never see that type of $$ if u stayed on the team. U were moved to scout, my guy! Lol.

What angers me about this is I’ve lost 3 ppl, 2 from suicide, & one from acute depression that led to overeating in the past 5 yrs from mental health issues. I hate that some of these ppl are abusing what’s meant for real patients who can’t cope w/ everyday life as an escape clause for responsibilities. So yeah, Imma lil triggered by this jit & his mama.

It very well may not be fair, but it can't be dismissed either. As is the case with so many things, there's a whole lot of gray here.
I hear you. Personally, I think Lane handled this like a complete clown. You talk like this to a ****bag like Arik Gilbert. This kid may have issues or may be soft. He didn't commit crimes.

How’s that even an excuse to losing to the bottom feeders of the sec in Kentucky, lsu and uf.

He’s acting like they’re not operating on an Ohio state budget right now.
They all act like the SEC is super superior it isn’t it’s a top heavy conference and this year their tops teams aren’t super dominant so they are losing to bad teams and crying saying it’s the SEC and we beat each other up. Oklahoma is 5-5 Kentucky is 4-7 stfu

The argument of "Well what if Ole Miss played in the Big 12 / ACC" also doesn't hold water.

They've been allowed to accumulate talent BECAUSE they're in the SEC.

You can't have your cake and eat it.

Oh the whining....... Why don't you beat the teams you're supposed to beat and stop crying, Lane

CFP selection committee chair Warde Manuel addressed the amount of weight strength-of-schedule carries. He said it’s a point of conversation, but isn’t necessarily what it all comes down to when discussions end.

“One of the things that we talk about is teams can only play the schedule they have in front of them against the teams that have been, from a conference standpoint, assigned,” “We can maybe be critical of non-conference schedules and those kind of things, but when it gets to the conference, particularly as these conferences have expanded, there are more teams to play throughout the conference. Teams can only play the schedule that’s in front of them. They can only play the opponents that they have."

“So we take the stance that we’re going to really look at these games, we’re going to look at the stats, we’re going to look at the strength of schedule, but we’re also going to look at how teams are performing against the competition that they have. From our perspective, if it was just about strength of schedule, we wouldn’t be needed. You could just take at the end of the season the top 12 teams with the highest strength of schedule and put them against each other. What we’ve been asked to do is to judge and to look at how teams are playing against the competition that they have and to rank them accordingly to how we see it, and that’s the way I would explain how we take a look and we look at the differences even though the schedules and the opponents may be different.”
