Lane Kiffin

Kiffin will leave Miami in the dust for a better job in a heartbeat. Please.

Funny how the Lake Kiffin crowd loves to trash Mario's run at FIU—but won't bring up Kiffin's run at USC, Tennessee, Oakland or fact that his best days were calling plays on Saban's staff with top flight talent.

Your two statements are contradictory. You’re going to trash kiffin (which is beyond asinine btw based on your rationale, I mean just look at the numbers he’s put up the past couple years on offense), but then say he would bolt in a heartbeat? You know if he bolted that means we were winning right?

I don’t view Kiffin as a long-term hire, that’s not really who he is. Now 3-4 years and he starts dominating the ACC, setting the roadmap for us? Yes please, no defense in this **** conference will hold him under 35.

Let’s hire Kiffin, and then…

Agree to a home-and-home series with Ole Miss, 2023-2024.
Start a thread asking who should Miami hire to replace Kiffin after he bolts following the 2025 season.

I love Mario and would be very, very happy to have him here. I would also be glad to have Kiffin.

USC - Sanctions caught up to him. Before that, he had them rolling.
Tennesee - One year only and improved in the record. Not a good measuring stick to use for just one year.
FAU - Gave them their best seasons ever.
Old Miss - Currently ranked in the top 10.

We would be lucky to land Kiffen.

He’d come

Me too

So because his personality is Flashy means, he would leave a Top 25 job with elite financial resources to come here? I really think some people overlook the quality of program Ole Miss is.

So…on top of being a self-admitted ALABAMMY FAN BOY you are also an SEC SEC SEC honk.

We have some weird fans.

Ole **** is now ELITE!

I know another coach who left us for Bama in a heartbeat.. Ok not a heartbeat. Like 3 weeks.

LOL. Its funny cause ppl will judge Kiffin by how he left Tennessee after 1 season and FAU after 2 seasons, but yet will give Mario a pass for ditching us after 5 weeks for greener pastures.

Or how Kiffin's tenure at USC would be dissected and used against him, but meanwhile, at the same time, Mario's tenure at FIU would be given a pass.

Then there's the whole Mario learned from Saban argument, but yet the fact that Kiffin learned from the same guy is just an afterthought.

They're 1A and !B in my book, but pls apply the same standards.

Also, Kiffin has been rumored for several head coach openings — including LSU and Southern California — and head coaching positions not yet open — the Miami Hurricanes.

Kiffin saying, "See you next year." Well, Miami and Southern California are not on the 2022 Alabama football schedule. LSU and Ole Miss both are on Nick Saban's schedule for the 2022 Alabama football season.

Maybe that tweet means he will see Saban socially after the season is over for some social get together in 2022.

so we need a guy who was fired at his other P5 jobs and just fell into a situation where the QB is probably a first round pick this year? Have you all learned nothing?
Agree. Lane left UT after a big 7-6 season, so we were led to believe he'd win huge at SC, just like Pete Carroll, but he didn't come close and was fired. Had some modest success at FAU and this one nice season at Ole Miss. Yes, he was a solid coordinator at Alabama, but so has everyone else in that position.

I doubt if Kiffin comes here he'd win much and would bail at the first sign he's lost the fan base and/or the media. He looks good on paper, but really hasn't done nearly as much as expected.

I'm not a fan of Mario C either, but if those are the two possibilities, I'd take the latter even if I don't like him at all after 2014.
