Kj Jefferson...commits to UCF

when i saw him throw at one of the elite 11’s

his accuracy is top tier as a thrower.

His size and build

his mental makeup and approach

He has all the tools as a thrower, he just needs to learn how to be a QB.

I am also going not just on my observations, but those opinions of people i trust that have also seem him play

And throw out the struggles in his two games he started this year.

Ken Dorsey was 4 for 12 and 7 of 16 in his first two games. (NOT saying he’s Dorsey).

But the point is, QB eval and development process is a very much “big picture” exercise. Don’t know if Emory definitely delivers. Too early to tell. And at this point, no one else does. But the tools are there to say he has a chance and that’s all you can ask or expect. And to make a determination based on what we know today that he’s not it, is pretty silly and no good coach would do that

I knew Jake Garcia was going to suck from the jump because I saw obvious deficiencies that coaching couldn’t overcome. But I also thought that TVD’s arm talent was going to carry him further and more consistently than it did. The evidence was there from the start for both, just as it is for emory to be good.

Am I wrong or right? Who the fu*k knows …. But my observation is I think emory’s got a good shot. After staying healthy, the most important thing is that he has the mental makeup for a good QB. I’ve worked with QB’s who had mediocre arm strength and made them better. i have also helped guys with footwork issues, or ball handling challenges.

But neither I nor any coach can fix stupid.

And you can’t make a kid tougher and more motivated of they aren’t already wired that way.

But with kids like Emory, when you got smart, tough, and motivated, and you throw in big and strong, you got a chance to mould them into a player.

After that: The rest is mostly just good fortune
Emory was the worse qb I saw this year. You keep hyping this dude. I hope he proves it on the field

What about his first start against Clemson, a team that's had our number. He led the team back from a fourth quarter 10-point deficit to a victory. He showed something you can't teach.

He just needs reps and for the game to slow down. But it's unlikely he'll be ready next year. We still need a one-year starter.

He didn't lead the team to win the Clemson game. Emory made a couple of nice throws but it was Don Chaney and co that lead the team to that comeback. In that one long drive we just ran the ball down Clemson throat for the TD. In overtime all we did was run the ball and Clemson just couldn't stop those guys. You guys are building Emory up as this legend who had this Dan Marino/John Elway come from behind win. We just ran the ball in a 90s Bill Parcells style and played great defense. If we had any type of passing game Miami would have blown out Clemson

Who would want a qb that's similar to Alabama's qb. Alabama is only in the final 4.
People trash Jacuri when Emory is worse than him. Emory can't pass or run
What I was trying to say is if Mario is bringing in anyone other than Ward or Howard then it’s a huge slap in the face to Jacurri because I feel the kid will be serviceable enough to not need to spend money on KJ Jefferson. I bet he’s been working on his timing with the receivers and will surprise. Maybe 🤔 that’s what Wario means by “we got our Quarterback” I would have loved to see Jacurri vs the honey bees 🐝 but from what Flo said it looks like he chose to red shirt and get developed. Wow Jacurri is mature enough to take himself out of the equation and take his time because he wasn’t ready and now he is the undisputed Qb1! Let’s go Jacurri!!! Let’s go Canes!!

It was just a couple of nice throws, at the right time, that allowed the comeback to play out.

How many of our loses were a couple of nice throws away from a win.

Nobody's building him up. He is what he is, a true freshman who's shown potential. Is he ready for next year, of course not. That doesn't mean he can't be developed.

At some point, the QB room has to be built up so that there is always someone in the pipeline being developed.

Its not even worth arguing with folks on here. People really trying to compare 8/23 Emory and Jacurri that had 230 yards in 2 starts 3td 3 picks.. to KJ whose put up over 7,000 yards passing and 1500 rushing in the toughest conference. Then say oh well he sucked this year like they forgot how bad Dan Enos was as OC lmao smh

Everyone here makes some very valid points and no one has the complete answer. Let's hope that Jaccuri can put a real good game together and stays with UM. I don't thnik that happens but we never know. My personal feeling is the Jaccuri has the talent to win this game and futher his football college career either here or elsewhere. Mario is in a very tough situation here because of his stupidity and subborness. Hopefully UM finds a way to load up the QB room in the very near future.

Ya I mean it's common sense. Reports out of summer was Jacurri was struggling he struggled real bad in spring game. I'd love to see him show out tomorrow too but him and Emory need another year. Ward is 1a to me Howard and KJ are 2a,2b imo. I wouldn't lose out on Howard or KJ waiting for Cam. We have alot of talent we just need a QB and we fuxkin fuxkin!!!!
