I think Popo got hurt in Louisville game. Didn't play vs Duke or yesterday but he's expected back for WF. I know Alderman and Chase were out there but I saw Wesley being abused a ton yesterday in coverage.

We blitzed Kiko more last year. He had 7.5 sacks. Now he's in coverage, guarding backs one on one downfield or on crossing routes. He's the same guy he was last year but we let him play downhill. Now we are playing him like he's Fred Warner. He's not that type of player and idk why the coaches don't see that.

He was beat on that 4th quarter TD but it's still his more natural spot. It was also a perfect throw

Seems to me the staff felt the same way pretty early and tried to get Popo more snaps and then he got hurt

I would take McCloud over ‘24 Kiko in a heartbeat. McCloud was an average LB. Kiko ‘24 is a straight up liability.

I think he got hurt in the Cal game and then it just got worse
I could be wrong but I focus on the LBs just out of habit and I remember a really bad looking play against Cal. Because I thought to myself “****…just as we were clearly trying to get him involved”
I’ve been saying it since last year he’s our most complete linebacker by a mile he just needs reps

Kiko was never that good, there's a reason he didn't enter the draft last year, TrumpyCane never even thought he was that great, he's lost in space and only played well when he's asked to go down hill

The fact that we can only reliably beat teams in one phase of the game means we're in for trouble for ACCCG aspirations, forget the CFP. Shout out to Borregales too, he's dope.
Secondary is meh, but the issue is the defensive line not consistently disrupting the LOS or getting to the QB. Stunting **** has to go. If we want to be elite in the trenches, guys need to win their matchups and help with the deficiencies in the back 7

He's not super fast and still trying to master his assignments but his good moments he looks like an elite Miami caliber LB. Next game needs to be his time to take a bigger role.

Yeah I think he will look faster the more comfortable he gets. I mean you see everyone else lost in this defense and looking slower than they are I suppose. In high school he showed some really impressive speed
He had some plays last year where he showed good sideline to sideline play and awareness in coverage. It was almost hard to believe because it’s been so long since any of our LBs actually did that sadly

Facts. Looking slower at times is a product of thinking too much or not being confident in your assignment. At this point his growing pains coupled with upside is more valuable than what Kiko gives us.

I’m biased towards the LBs but often times the difference between people going “omg he’s so ******* slow” and “omg look how fast and aggressive he is” is just as simple as the player knowing where they’re supposed to be going
