Kevin Beard's Impact on Recruiting

Alittle of Both....our OL in 94 was deplorable, outside of AA KC Jones. (Because of Ericksons OL recruiting) I really didn't come around until 95....so 94 was alittle before me. I will say that I can name 5 or 6 other former UM QBs that we'd have beaten Nebraska in 95 OB with.

Help me out here, I could have SWORN that Uncle Luke started making similar noise when KK was injured and Dorsey was playing, something about Kelly better still have his starting role once he got healthy.

Am I hallucinating that?

luke is a narcissistic piece of ****. he's not a real hurricane fan. he can go **** himself with a wood splintered monster baseball bat.

here's an article on the subject matter. as @SWFLHurricane says, it was 1995. welcome back, from band camp.

We had someone in here standing up for Luke and he excoriated posters for anti-Luke rhetoric. I wanted to get a full picture presented.

Probably not....but by then, nobody gave af about Luke whatsoever. The 95 threat lives in infamy because of the timing (NCAA Sanctions) @Brooklyndee would know more about it. But he'd agree about my 1995 recollection.

Another thing, even if KK doesn't get hurt, Dorsey was gonna start in 2000 regardless. Dorsey lit up Greentree the Spring/Summer of 99....

Oh, I agree with you, I had already been hearing things about KD. But there was also a lot of hype about KK, it was his jersey that was sold in stores, it was his team at the beginning of the season.

And, yes, it worked out well for everyone, but you're always going to have some people who are more comfortable with the "known quantity" compared to the new guy.

Butch pretty much gave KK an ultimatum....Either FB 100%....or Baseball 100%....no in-betweens

Coach Moe is a U fan, right?

So yeah, **** that, **** Moe and **** old *** NOW THATS WHAT I CALL 90s STRIPPER MUSIC LUTHER CAMPBELL.

**** LeBastard, while we at it, too.
You mutha ****ers can't even get out of your own way trying to twist words into something to fit your narrative.

I said the man is a part of his community and that kids respect him whether you or anyone else likes it or not.
I also said hating on the coaches of the kids we're trying to recruit doesn't help.

Those are facts not accolades. Know the difference.

Now you can STFU with your stupid petty BS!!!

This. If our offense can have success, look out. Mario is on a mission with WR’s and DL’s.

Among the WR’s we’ve been linked with who are set to announce over the next 7-10 days, I’d rank them:

- Miller (elite WR1 in a tier of his own)
- Hawkins (phenomenal speed and upside, though slot is less of a need)
- Staley (no room for him at Clemson, but a good all-around WR)
- Duff (last by a considerable margin)

If we land Miller, I’ll be crowning everyone involved. He’s exactly the caliber of premier WR we haven’t landed in many years. Same goes for Smith and Wingo.

Top 2 I've heard people in the know here say 0% chance for. Staley recruitment quiet, & Duff prob not a take.

Of the WRs we have a realistic chance with, none are “thank god we have Beard, otherwise we’d have no chance” situations/players.

The rest people are claiming the offense has to light it up this season for us to have a chance. Which, once again, doesn’t speak to much of an impact from Beard.

Agree. For the second year in a row, we are sofla heavy. It should be clear by now that a WRC ain’t gonna move the meter - having a competent offense is. Only way we will get a top (especially OOS) WR is to excel on the field.
