2025 Kellen Wiley Jr, LB/ATH - Armwood HS (Tampa, FL) offered

Feels like todays price kept going higher than what was agreed upon yesterday.
doesn't hurt
From Gaby:

Miami has hosted one in-season official visit in the Mario Cristobal era. It is not something that the Hurricanes do or practice. Now, the Hurricanes did initially offer Wiley an official visit, but with Wiley playing an important playoff game on Friday night in the Tampa area and Miami playing at noon on Saturday, there is little logic in hosting an official visit weekend. That turnaround is tough. All together, Miami decided that they were not going to host official visitors this weekend.

Wiley is still very much coveted by Miami and he's welcomed to be a part of the class and take an official visit after signing, which is the same a few commits who haven't taken official visits are doing. Miami didn't ask anything of Wiley they didn't ask of their own commits.

The Hurricanes didn't 'drop' Wiley or stop recruiting him. On the contrary. They would very much welcome his signature on December 4 and hope to land it.

I hope that provides some clarity.
this is exactly what dennis told me.

it matters but I'm not giving him any input. this decision he has to make on his own. It time to grow up . Whatever he decides I'm supporting and relocating
This is exactly how I'd handle it. They'll never learn how to make good decisions if you don't let them making their own decisions at all.

Yep. Kid and his dad seem like great people but like many have said in here…it’s a business decision now, both for the players and the school so a player and family can’t get too butthurt when it happens in reverse (not saying that’s the case here). Hope he finds a great spot. If it ain’t UM I’m taking that Texas offer doe 😂🤷🏻‍♂️
Yeah Kell SR seems cool as **** just for being active in here i wish JR all the luck in thr world especially because worst case scenario he isn't going to one of the rivals 😂

Yea idk about that Gaby explanation.

Seems more reasonable to me is that they got wind of a commitment Wiley made wherever he last visited or something. Or maybe the negotiations got out of hand.

Idk, but Gaby's explanation just sounds weird to me lol.
I mean I had to look it up and it hit me how they really don't do OVs during the season and their game should end at like 10, plus the drive to get to the game by noon would be annoying especially whenever he's going to sleep if he does really. If you're going to pull out all the stops to get him for a weekend is that really the best option?

Attendance is going to be brutal. Happy he doesn’t have to witness it on a OV in person. Let’s continue to build that relationship and sign him and get the visit after NSD.

If we land him he’s immediately my favorite defensive recruit (not named Bain) we’ve landed during Mario’s tenure.

I don’t disagree with it at all, just kind of perplexing it took them until Wednesday the week of to figure this out when it’s been an unwritten rule for 3 years with Mario.

Gotta think the visit would still be on if it was a 7pm kickoff, but the noon kick ****ed then.

Makes sense why D$ posted the Gavin Nix tape a few days ago.

Unfortunate but good luck to your son, he’s a very good player.

Alford becomes a must flip (if he wasn’t already), and even then, him and Wiley would have been the best two LBs in this class.
