I admit, I said that if it was close I would feel a lot more comfortable if Heaps, with his experience, was named the starter. Obviously, the coaches feel that he is ready and they see a lot more of him in practice than any of us, so that is good enough for me.

This^^^^^^ Kaaya had to win the job outright. VERY impressive of a true freshman no matter how mediocre people think Heaps is. I wonder how he would have faired head to head vs. Williams.

true but he didnt have Duke Johnson, Coley or Dorsett. Kaaya has a better supporting cast. If the defense can just play to their talent he could have that type of year and see us lose maybe 1-2 games

He has a good stable of backs (including a likely NFL starting rookie this year), a 1st round pick WR (starting in NFL), an All-Conference TE, another WR who'll be top 3 round selection, and a solid enough OL. Let's not downplay. Winston put it all together, but he was a 2nd year guy with a good cast. Just trying not to put undue expectations on Kaaya.

you are now 0 for 2 in this thread. Winston had 4 other all ACC first team players on his team, including RB devote freeman and wr Greene. Plus one more on 2nd team.
