Just watched Adriene Talan

The hottest 200 miles of high school football, yet we have this, we have to bring in others like we did 15 years ago. I think that football in south florida is at a place it's never been. com'on man!!!

Golden has boxed himself into a corner once again coming up short in numbers at critical depth positions. Randy was able to have his punter play WR when he recruited 1 WR over a two year period. Maybe we can have Goudis or Gray Crow take reps at LB.

The staff should be working the phones hard to get a couple LB prospects in here for next weekend. Our special teams were abysmal and we need help there right away.

Huh? Randy never had a punter play wr. When he came in we had a punter running with the wideouts. I know you were trying to be funny but you're trying too hard. Right the backers for 16 look good hopefully they remain committed.

Nebraska freshman linebacker Adrienne Talan is currently not participating in football activities, a Nebraska spokesman confirmed Monday.

Talan, a freshman linebacker from Davie, Fla., went through fall camp with the Huskers.

“(Adrienne is) still in school and on scholarship, but not currently participating in football activities,” an NU spokesman said Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Talan committed to the Huskers on Signing Day in February, and was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports and was the No. 80 safety in the country. This fall he had been working with the third and fourth team defenses, and was not among the seven true freshmen players Nebraska head coach Mike Riley said would play in 2015.

So what does that mean? That doesn't sound like a redshirt. He is not even participating in football AT ALL.

He got red-shirted. Needs to gain weight.

you still participate in football activities with a redshirt.

Indeed.

I don't know what's up with that report. I'll try to find out. I know he's not happy up there though.

all these soflo guys want to go to these bumbf*ck colleges but don't know what it takes to live in some of these little college towns. huge cultural change

He actually preferred a small town. Said it would be less distractions. That's not the reason he's unhappy though. He's never been a party kid. There's other stuff going on but I'd rather not put too much info in the air.

He needs to deal with the cards he's been dealt, that's all I'm gonna say. Major college football is an adjustment and a humbling experience.

Hope you telling him to fight thru macho he'll be a better man for it. It's easy to quit when things are rough but the strong weather the storm and still come out on top.

he woulda been part of the Al Golden redshirt bonfire this saturday for sure, just goes to show that Nebraska is deeper than us and everyone needs to simmer down with the double digit win predi'ctions, Mike Riley's alzheimer riddled great grandfather has forgotten more football than golden knows

He would've probably been shirted regardless of where we went. Nebraska is very bare at LB. Talan is just very thin. He needs weight.
