We all know the defense is terrible but the ultimate accountability for that defense falls on Mario, not Guidry.

A decision to move on and maintain a standard could have and should have been delivered weeks ago, if the “CEO” of the program was capable of taking decisive action. As of now, Mario has not proven he can take decisive action to the benefit of the program.

My only question regarding NIL, did we just get outbid? Or is the money really drying up? I’d find it hard to believe that the power brokers who were giving Mario blank checks a year ago stopped. Especially considering we won 10 games when the opened the checkbook for Ward and it worked out tremendously.

Back to back classes now we really counted on flipping/closing our biggest targets closer to signing day. Worked out in our favor last cycle with Scott and Blount. We essentially struck out this cycle. I think internally there was a miscalculation on Vernell Brown and Ben Hanks. Staff figured UF would fall apart and we could scoop them late which obviously did not happen. I also question having 2 UF legacy guys at the top of your board and having all eggs in that basket.

I hope this next class we get the higher end guys in the boat earlier in the process.

no I am not. I NEVER believed they were coming, despite what was said by all kinds of people.

Pickett was always about $$, and my understanding is it got to an absurd number..... I'm okay with Mario drawing the line.

Hanks was the longest of long shots given his family ties to UF.

As a fan base, every signing season we get attached to the least likely recruits to sign with Miami and then blame everyone when they go elsewhere. Occasionally there are exceptions but generally they don't work out...

I'll reserve my options for after the portal closes and we see what Miami does there.

There's so much money to spread around; maybe some of these other freshman wanted too much and they're rather allocate those dollars for instant-impact upperclassmen next season—maybe the takeaway from this year was that a few more big portal names in the secondary and at linebacker and Miami is 12-0 and off to the ACC title game with this year's roster.

If we strike out in the portal and don't fill gaps, then there's always time to come back and second-guess the process and signing days flips, but until we have that 2025 roster filled out by all measures, seems premature to over-dissect this.

Absolutely. We got ahead of things which was great but it was gonna catch up. I don’t think people here really follow other teams at all but a lot of the bigger ones were biding their time and not getting into the mess. But then they had no choice

#1 class in the ACC. Another big time recruit deciding tomorrow. Portal hasn't even started. How much did you put into the NIL program?

We’ll see after the portal how this works out . We get a solid qb well still be good on that side of the ball . We need like 3 dbs and 1lb. I honestly believe Wiley comes and starts . He 225 **** be 235 to 240 by next year .

I won’t necessarily be concerned until the transfer portal is done. We land some proven back 7 help and a solid qb, maybe a solid wr and I think we’ll be 10+ wins next season, as long as Mario hires a DC who’s not a fat Cajun alcoholic that is.

We are very lucky to get him. I think the question in the thread needs to be any freshman on defense who can tackle will play. Scroggins Lowe and Wiley will be on the field doing something. Wallace if healthy will play. We are losing D ends and the two we signed are awesome! Wiley adds size and aggression to a position that needed help.

I’m with you. That’s why although we didn’t close strong I’m high on a lot of kids in this class. It’s the fact that we lost 3 guys. And all 3 were in positions we needed help at. Thank the lord we landed Wiley.

We need a starting safety. I can’t stomach number 7. He legit looks like me on the field. Mario knows if Patterson will be ready. Every time I saw him play he was around the ball. There’s NO way he isn’t better than number 7. We 100% need a linebacker. A real linebacker! One that doesn’t suck. And we need as many legit DTs as we can get. I think Antione is so talented in man to man and Wallace is a baller! And we need the best portal QB on the planet

Maybe one Dt we landed top dts last class they should be able to contribute . Either Bain needs to lose weight or he needs to be dt too . We need faster de on the fiord like picket… hopefully he’s around 230 next year
