JUCO DT Campbell has a story to tell

Great story on this guy. I hope it all works out for him in the end. As it relates to football in my opinion he's slow of the ball at times shows great containment on the edges, not super impressed maybe coaching is the issue with overall technique. I wish him much success no matter where he goes...he deserves it.

I'm not a Miami fan so I didn't sign up to become a user of the board, just wanted to pass along some facts on the guy. I own a site that has interviewed Campbell and his coaches and in addition to that I've talk to several college coaches and no one is even familiar with him.

By the way I'm not trying to **** on the thread, I'm trying to keep you from getting excited over a kid that most likely couldn't make your five deep. If you did my job every day wouldn't you hate seeing when guys do what Campbell has for the last year? We usually see a few of these each year and it's frustrating.

Welp, what if the guy is telling the truth?

God I hate recruiting.
Heart warming story. The guy deserves a chance somewhere. If our coaches think he's ready, then I stand behind them. Appreciate "recruiting talk" dropping by, but I'll go with our staffs eval. He will land on his feet running, and will instantly become a locker room inspiration. If he comes here and can have a heart to heart with RL52, from his HS of course, we COULD see something special.

Hold up I'm not questioning your staff's evaluations at all. What I'm telling you is that it's HIGHLY unlikely that he is even in contact with your staff. Are any of the other Miami insiders reporting that the Canes are involved? As I've said I watched this happen at 20+ schools and then the talk about him dropped off because there was nothing going on between him and those schools.

I noticed a link to this article on Twitter and followed it to see the latest from Campbell. Let me start by saying I work in the recruiting industry and know Demetrius' situation very well. So I should begin with telling you that almost everything you read there was a lie and it's not the writer's fault, Campbell does this to everyone in the business. He was never signed by West Virginia, in fact they don't think he has ever been to their school in an official capacity. He is not homeless or at least he wasn't as of a few weeks ago. He's a nice kid but unfortunately he lives in a fantasy world. Go to the major recruiting networks and look at his profile. You'll notice that last summer many sites were writing articles on him and he was telling fabulous stories at that time. Now pay attention to how the articles dropped off, how he never took the official visits to the BCS schools that were supposedly all over him. I've spoken to writers from each of the big time schools he talks about and most fell for his lies in the beginning and then when they checked with their inside sources (coaches) they found there was no truth to it.

I hate to sound like I'm attacking the young man's character but I get really upset seeing fans from several schools fall for lies and get excited over a player that at best will likely end up at UTSA. And don't feel dumb, every forum does this when an article comes out and leads them to believe he's a big time player that slipped through the cracks.

Got any proof?

This. Can you post links to a site that proves what you are saying is correct? Not saying you're a liar but you can't accuse someone of lying and not have evidence for it.

As I said just go to the recruiting networks and look at the articles that were written. See how often he talks about visits, offers, etc that never took place. Doesn't that tell you all you need to know? Not sure what proof you need more than that and why would I even care to call someone a liar if he wasn't? This isn't some great conspiracy and I'm not here to cause trouble, I was simply trying to help.

Recruiting Talk - If you're all over this and have followed this kids "shenanigans" for the past year why can't you just simplify this by throwing us a link validating what youre saying? I'm not doubting you, because for all I know that was a crock of **** that he told us... but at the same time maybe it wasn't.

It'd b greatly appreciated if you just linked us with some kind of support to your claim. As you can tell, most people here don't believe newcomers who come up in here and blow up an article. Again, I understand what you are trying to do, and if it is true I/we appreciate it. But if it is true you shouldn't have a problem providing us with a link supporting your claim rather than just telling us to look it up ourselves. Help us out....

Lulz. You're accusing the guy. As the accuser you have to present the evidence. If you don't have any then don't drag his name through the mud. Where is your evidence?
