JUCO DT Campbell has a story to tell

Exactly that is what I am talking about in leadership to mold a class. Kaaya jumped on that tonight, to encourage this recruit.

Good stuff.

Simply amazing! This guy is DRIVEN! With no one behind him and life at it's worst. He is Driven. Gotta give this guy an opportunity. His story is...simply amazing!

This kid better be a Cane. If not, I pray to God he gets to attend another school, no matter where it is. This kid deserves so much better for what he has gone through. My heart literally just sank reading this. I am praying for this kid and if he were to end up here that would be such a blessing for both him and our program. This kid is a winner and would be an undeniable asset for our team.

Kaaya isn't even here yet, but already taking a leadership attitude. Already doing the Miami Family thing.

If Campbell gets to Miami, ain't nobody going to get his pork chop. Nobody gonna work harder. He already knows that the hard things can be done.

And Mr. Kaaya, I'm really looking forward to seeing you in the family. Thank you sir for reaching out to this other young man.

praise jesus, this is what is gonna make miami special getting guys like this. jesus is lord amen

This guy is pulling on the same heart strings that Mike James would. Looks like he can have the same leadership attributes at a position of need. Definite want!

Best recruiting interview I've ever read. I echo all of the previous "offer him" posts in this thread..

I noticed a link to this article on Twitter and followed it to see the latest from Campbell. Let me start by saying I work in the recruiting industry and know Demetrius' situation very well. So I should begin with telling you that almost everything you read there was a lie and it's not the writer's fault, Campbell does this to everyone in the business. He was never signed by West Virginia, in fact they don't think he has ever been to their school in an official capacity. He is not homeless or at least he wasn't as of a few weeks ago. He's a nice kid but unfortunately he lives in a fantasy world. Go to the major recruiting networks and look at his profile. You'll notice that last summer many sites were writing articles on him and he was telling fabulous stories at that time. Now pay attention to how the articles dropped off, how he never took the official visits to the BCS schools that were supposedly all over him. I've spoken to writers from each of the big time schools he talks about and most fell for his lies in the beginning and then when they checked with their inside sources (coaches) they found there was no truth to it.

I hate to sound like I'm attacking the young man's character but I get really upset seeing fans from several schools fall for lies and get excited over a player that at best will likely end up at UTSA. And don't feel dumb, every forum does this when an article comes out and leads them to believe he's a big time player that slipped through the cracks.

You're right, I signed up to make that post. Again just look at the articles out there and you will see it doesn't add up. He never took an official visit to any major schools and even the writers started to catch on and they stopped interviewing him. I'm only trying to help because honestly it ****es me off to see a recruit play people.
