Oh Come On Jim Carrey GIF

wait you're saying that you think Gattis will end up staying?!
SWFL confirmed that HE personally has some very good recruiting contacts ... but no inside information regarding staff. He believes that Gattis is gone and that is the position that Cribby has stated. So we are all pretty much HOPING that Cribbys information is correct. Gattis remaining on staff will be a HUGE burden for the program to overcome ... both recruiting and definitely season ticket renewals.

I didn’t expect the Sunday morning after Pitt for the scroll to run that Gatass is gone, but I really didn’t expect two weeks he’d still be here.

Makes me think he’s having a hard time finding an OC (or HC) job and he’s shooting too high. The whole country saw him destroy a top 10 QB room and although we had injuries, he got exposed without his chaperone system at Michigan.

You are so dopey. Plenty of coaches have left Alabama for a variety of reasons, certainly way more than just "Lane Kiffin". The fact that YOU don't know about all of those people and all of those reasons is PROOF that Saban's approach has worked for him. He certainly GIVES OFF THE IMPRESSION that everything has worked just fine at Alabama for 15 years and everyone leaves of their own accord for a promotion or bigger job.

Hilarious.
No **** plenty of coaches have left bama, almost always for promotions or pay raises, nOt because they were low key fired for poor performance …lane was the example the other poster was talking about so that’s what I responded to, doesn’t mean I was being all inclusive. Read the post I was replying to then get back to me “dopey”. I’d love to hear all the examples of people that saban really fired, and My point is that Mario has All the justification he needs to fire gattis. Sabans only justification would be that they lost 2 games in a season, nothing as rock solid and indefensible as having a bottom 10 offense like we had this year

I don't think his intent was to fire Gattis..his intent was to have Gattis leave on his own.

If Gattis doesn't/can't move on, then Mario will have to decide if he wants to fire him or keep him for another year.

But goal #1 was for Gattis to leave on his own.
Just ask yourself what football powerhouses would be twiddling their thumbs after the season. They do what's best for the program not the people. We certainly aren't a powerhouse but I for one would like to see us moving into that that direction.

Plus there's this... Apparently we hired a guy that many people "inside" knew wouldn't be a great success here.
Probably much harder to get a job when you have that reputation and then the on field results he had this year.

He's going to have to take a bigger step down than he thought. But it's still better than getting fired.

Yep, it’s not like he started looking for a job recently. This has been going on for **** near over a month.

At some point, Mario might have to make the decision instead of the decision being made for him. And I’m growing increasingly concerned as the days tick off as to why he’s having trouble making what is essentially a no-brainer.

Unless it was told to keep quiet, all the Gattis to Iowa talk cooled significantly. The initial thought from their fans and writers I believe was Ferentz’s son to take a demotion as run game coordinator/o line coach (he excels in the latter) and Gattis the passing game coordinator / OC. But they also didn’t think changes would come (if any) til after the bowl game.

I don't like it either.

My hope would be that Mario made a decision that Gattis is gone. How doesn't matter but we'll give him 2 weeks to leave on his own terms and if he hasn't then we'll fire him. But we're not going to let his job search hold this program hostage.

But if he made that decision and gave it more than 2 weeks (which would be tomorrow), then in my opinion he's given him too much time.
