Blake did mess things up, but that part of it is 100% on the school's in house legal department. And unfortunately, while the stench of Blake is largely gone, there are likely still holdovers in legal that screwed that up.

There is an advantage that you’re forgetting - if Gattis finds a new gig, Miami would not be responsible for his $1.8 mil buyout.

Mario is currently talking to candidates while gattis is doing the same at other schools. It’s just not released publicly due to contract purposes.

How common is it for coordinators to have buyout clauses in their contracts? Head coaches definitely, but I don't really hear much about it when coordinators are fired. Is this a common thing or is the UM administration that inept at contracts?

He was shown at a game this past weekend though in which two recruits were playing. That much was even put out by the University. But pictures with the kids maybe not.
