Might be one of those where he gets shuffled around, but they’ve brought in two Michigan players on offense already (including Cade)…there’s a lot of connections. Not saying it’s a sure thing, but it fits what they want to run up at Iowa.

Since I live in big ten country, what going on with Ferentz is similar to when Richt hired his son Jon.

It’s been decided that his son will get shuffled around, likely to an off-field role. If Kirk Fetentz didn’t, he’s basically tying a noose around his neck

Well then look no further…

I am also thinking of the Adidas contract, lawsuits from two former coaches, etc.

I know nothing of the Gattis situation. I hope he is leaving, I think he is leaving, but I also do think that the court of public opinion is largely against Mario and his offense right now and it makes negative recruiting that much easier. However, we have adults in the room besides him in Zo and Rad. It has not impacted recruiting, no idea what impact it will have on portal guys, and I hope it does not cost us any OC targets.

Logically, it makes sense that Mario and co have a specific OC target in mind and the timeline is based on that person's availability and willingness to move. The flip side of that is our offense was such an abomination that this delay does make it fair game for questioning and criticism. I get both sides of this debate. Sometimes you do just need to rip the bandaid and not let things fester, and that is kind of where I am at.

All fair points, and I forgot about the Adidas contract, which BJ fuqed up, by not reading the fine print and only read the first page with the revenue figure on it

Blake did mess things up, but that part of it is 100% on the school's in house legal department. And unfortunately, while the stench of Blake is largely gone, there are likely still holdovers in legal that screwed that up.

Wednesday December 7, 2022 and Gattis is still employed by Miami. Here we go again NoD, Mark's son, and the bartender...........all got their HCs fired.

It says something when some of the most critical of Mario posters on here - just short of the drooling, rabid variety - are DM’g multiple Maude’s about how unbearable some of these droolers have made this place.

Yea! It's like . . . FAMILY! Brothers slinging doo doo for fun and entertainment. (Cause this IS some funny stuff coming out!!!!!)

Cry Havoc! And turn loose the Dogs of WAR!

I'm inclined to believe Gattis is back for a second season. There has been no movement to even give reason to speculate otherwise. Nothing has leaked from the school or others that he may be looking elsewhere for employment. He's not gonna walk away from 1.8m willingly for a lesser job and no one wants him for OC. He's still out recruiting. And probably the most telling sign is that we are now seeing some of the offensive guys entering the portal signalling that they want nothing to do with that offense Gattis believes he is running. Hope I'm wrong but buckle up for Gattis again.
isn't strange gattis isn't in Twitter pics with any offensive recruits nor has Steel either

The good news is that this is only a 2 year contract and only year 2 of 10 for Mario. So he’s got time to figure this out with Gattis, hire another ****** coordinator for year 3-4, then do it all over again twice

I try to be measured but I'm disappointed. Mario is big on accountability. This guy failed. You want to create a culture and establish expectations? Then you should have fired this guy the Monday following Pitt and let the team know this is how stuff is going to run around here and it is consistent for everyone, no matter who you are or how much you're paid.
