I’m not trusting that gimmick. Mario’s hiring process is toooooo slow. The coaching in a bowl game, NFL schtick is a fool me once narrative around here that no one is buying this season…

Agreed we need a good OC and hope Mario is smart enough not to be tied to TVD vs the best for the team..

Hey, nobody is comfortable with the slow approach to the OC situation. That is one of Mario's "traits" based on the time he took to fill out the staff last year. HOPEFULLY Alonzo and Radakovich have been involved with Mario and honed in on their primary "mutually interested" OC candidate some time ago and have things in the final stages. Bring in a new OC/QB coach ... and let HIM make the decisions regarding the starting lineup.

Stop it. Our OC is not coaching in a bowl game. Our OC is currently at home reading about screen plays on wikipedia while trying to keep his head from exploding. His name is Joshua Gattis and he won the Broyles

That's a fair criticism for TVD, but he looked fine being a one-read guy under Lashlee.

The problem is Gattis. There's no question about it.

we had the worse attendance stats since in the 1990s IIRC, AFTER RECORD SEASON TICKET SALES.

if Gattis comes back, next year is going to be a disaster and Mario would have further burned whatever goodwill he has.
 
Let Mario make his bed. Much like the last 4 HC did. Year 1 was the worst I’ve ever seen this program… in 30 years or more. He says he got a plan and like it or not all we can do is ***** about it. Is what it is. Right now I’m not going to go to any games or buy merchandise until I see a good football team ( not asking for a National Championship or even conference)

I think anything its just my opinion that avmt this point all I care about in regards to the OC is that the right one is hired. As annoying the timing is (I don’t really understand why he is still not officially fired) I don't care how long it takes as long as he hires the right guy. I'm aware the damage to recruiting and all that but we have seen the damage what the wrong OC can do. Just get it as close to right as possible.

We decided NOT to drive 270 miles each way for the Pitt game + hotel room etc. Could not give away two club seats + parking passes. Gattis = disaster.

For better or for worse this is probably what’s going on, pair that with recruiting heating up Mario is probably going to make an announcement during the next dead period.

Not how I would do it personally but I understand the rationale behind it.
 
I said when Mario took so long last year that it was because he had a hard time finding an OC that wanted to run the outdated slam and bam offense he wanted to run until he found Gattis.

I have a feeling the delay this time is because now since he took the one guy he found last year and hired him he's now having to turn over every rock in every class of CFB to try and find another one cause every other one has moved on to more updated offenses.

It's gotta be that cause nothing else makes any sense...
