Well that is one way to save $2mm.
Sure is. That's why it was NOT about the buyout...but it technically does impact the buyout...

it happens more often than what you say. there are morals clauses which are very broad and other for-cause termination provisions that schools rely on. here are a few examplesHave you ever done this? This is nearly impossible. Cause is usually defined in a contract and I bet this one includes a definition of cause and I can assure you that the reasons listed above are not there. I’m not only an attorney but also run a company with over a thousand employees for quite some time and my family’s prior business had over 20k employees. I’m telling you that this just doesn’t happen especially at this level. If you have a way of doing this, please let me know because it would make my life a lot easier
I dunno about staff, but he sure fooked our entire seasonit depends on the facts. many times employees help you fire them for cause by doing stupid sh!!!t happens every day
maybe just maybe gattis f@@cked someone on staff and that was enough to fire him.
or he refused to recruit.
Right. They were just keeping Manny around the entire time Mario was deliberating because they thought it would be funny.
Herm Edwards was under investigation. Matt Weiss was under investigation by the police. If Gattis created bad offensive game plans that does not constitute for cause. If so, every coach would be fired for cause to avoid buyouts. It doesn’t happen often because it’s hard to do unless you actually have legitimate reasons.it happens more often than what you say. there are morals clauses which are very broad and other for-cause termination provisions that schools rely on. here are a few examples
Michigan fires co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss
Michigan has fired co-offensive coordinator Matt Weisswww.wilx.com
ASU's fired football coach could be entitled to multimillion-dollar buyout, but NCAA probe might block it
Herm Edwards' dismissal could be complicated by pending investigation of football program for alleged recruiting violations.www.12news.com
we don't know what gattis did or did not do, at least not yet, but we will
considering his character, he could have been insubordinate or failed to recruit or perform other obligatory functions/tasks or disrespectful or screwed a fellow worker against school policy or a million other things, all of which could constitute for-cause termination.
once you have a human being, the reasons can be endless
Probably a current player if anyone……….rhymes with bantz chilliamsA recruit???
i dont recall anyone arguing that his work on the field could be cause to fire him unless of course he was told to do something and he refused to do it (whichi doubt because these contracts generally provide that an oc will have control of the offense, for example)Herm Edwards was under investigation. Matt Weiss was under investigation by the police. If Gattis created bad offensive game plans that does not constitute for cause. If so, every coach would be fired for cause to avoid buyouts. and I hear you that we don’t know what he did. If he was sexually harassing people, sure that will qualify. So will prior violations at Michigan that came to light. But his performance (or lack thereof) here will not constitute for cause. If he wasn’t coming to work ever, then sure. If he refused to do his job ever, sure.Herm Edwards was under investigation. That’s not true. For cause is really difficult

That’s exactly what he was stating. He said incompetence. That’s not for causei dont recall anyone arguing that his work on the field could be cause to fire him unless of course he was told to do something and he refused to do it.
I imagine she has a GAP in her employment history now......Isn’t that the young lady who the police dept ran thru?
He also stated poor job performance. Again, neither of those rise to that level. That’s exactly what he was stating. He said incompetence. That’s not for cause
i re-read it. you are correct. his coaching incompetence or poor performance are not a for-cause reason. That’s exactly what he was stating. He said incompetence. That’s not for cause
Coverups can be infectious...
I think Poggi was smart to GTFO of Ann Arbor...
So how did that come about did she just walk into the break room in the Police Department and go hey guys I have a great idea for a team building exercise?Yea she served.
His option at this point is save face and walk away / leave or be fired with cause. The clock is now ticking.
