Have you ever done this? This is nearly impossible. Cause is usually defined in a contract and I bet this one includes a definition of cause and I can assure you that the reasons listed above are not there. I’m not only an attorney but also run a company with over a thousand employees for quite some time and my family’s prior business had over 20k employees. I’m telling you that this just doesn’t happen especially at this level. If you have a way of doing this, please let me know because it would make my life a lot easier
it happens more often than what you say. there are morals clauses which are very broad and other for-cause termination provisions that schools rely on. here are a few examples

we don't know what gattis did or did not do, at least not yet, but we will

considering his character, he could have been insubordinate or failed to recruit or perform other obligatory functions/tasks or disrespectful or screwed a fellow worker against school policy or a million other things, all of which could constitute for-cause termination.

once you have a human being, the reasons can be endless

Right. They were just keeping Manny around the entire time Mario was deliberating because they thought it would be funny.

You just keep proving your gullibility and naivete every time you porst.

Mario was not "deliberating". He specifically asked to be allowed to make a run at the Pac 12 championship and a Final Four slot, and for Miami not to do anything that would make that problematic. Which is why Miami retained Manny up until the point of announcing.

"They thought it would be funny". How dumb can you act (or be)? There were no "deliberations" that late in the season, Mario knew what he would decide, he'd already made all of his demands, and they were met. UM was not some random job, it was his alma mater.

Manny was fired in September and he knew it. His dad begged certain Trustees to allow his son to finish the season in order to get a good job elsewhere, and it obviously worked. You want me to show you my texts from September onward? You want me to turn back the clock and invite you to the Alonzo Zoom call?

The people who know, knew. But, hey, keep reading CaneSport and coming up with your dopey porsts.

Herm Edwards was under investigation. Matt Weiss was under investigation by the police. If Gattis created bad offensive game plans that does not constitute for cause. If so, every coach would be fired for cause to avoid buyouts. It doesn’t happen often because it’s hard to do unless you actually have legitimate reasons.

i dont recall anyone arguing that his work on the field could be cause to fire him unless of course he was told to do something and he refused to do it (whichi doubt because these contracts generally provide that an oc will have control of the offense, for example)

and I hear you that we don’t know what he did. If he was sexually harassing people, sure that will qualify. So will prior violations at Michigan that came to light. But his performance (or lack thereof) here will not constitute for cause. If he wasn’t coming to work ever, then sure. If he refused to do his job ever, sure.

Coverups can be infectious...

I think Poggi was smart to GTFO of Ann Arbor...

At the time I posted this, I wasn't sure if it was a "Michigan" issue or a "Miami" issue...

But I was trying to hint that multiple Michigan Men have had problems or have problems...
