You’ve got to think potential recruits, transfers and the tons of people around them have the low down on Gattis’s situation.
Reporters either are too lazy to get the info or have been told by Mario they’ll be persona non grata big time at Hecht If they do.
I seriously doubt many people know what’s fully going on. They just know he won’t be here next year.

February.

LORD, PLEASE let Miami already have someone (Mullen) lined up.

If Miami actually goes through a search after this,,,,,,,,SMDH

I can agree with that. Not saying it will he Mullen but it would be infuriating if they haven't started that process already.

He has known Harbaugh for a long time and I don't think what Harbaugh is doing is any different than Harbaugh has always done; pretty sure the main driver for leaving was that he wanted to be a head coach and was finally given the opportunity:

A few days before Michigan won the Big Ten title game, Poggi got serious consideration from UConn to be its head coach. Jim Mora got the job. Poggi would be lying if he said he wouldn’t love a crack at being a college head coach; he loves projects, and there are certainly some programs that need fixing. One of his proteges, Macdonald, said Poggi’s age and experience might elicit skepticism, but “for some creative athletic director who is willing to think outside the box, it’d be a **** of an investment.”

OK, whatever, you keep believing whatever any hack at The Athletic writes...

I don't care if he's "known Harbaugh for a long time", he coached HIGH SCHOOL for the better part of 30 years. "He wanted to be a heach coach and was finally given the opportunity"? Huh? He spent a year-and-a-half at Michigan. AND THAT'S THE POINT. He got out as fast as he possibly could, to a job that is nothing special (Charlotte). If he stayed at Michigan and had a few more good years, he could have far better opportunities. Nobody else was giving a 30 year HS coach a job except for a close friend, and I understand that dynamic. I'm not faulting Poggi for it.

I just laugh at this lifelong pursuit of a college head coaching job by spending 30 years coaching at the high school level. Some dream, all right...

This next OC sucks. I can't believe they hired this fool.

Just warming up.
Whiskey speaks my love language.

Based on intel we have learned, I am offering Mario a formal détente.

Hiring Gosh was his fault. Firing him may not be.

Hostilities will resume in 24 hours if no response is received.

What am I assuming?

I don't understand what could hold up buying someone out of their contract apart from not having the money to do it...

Exactly. You don't understand. So stop trying to. It will all be explained eventually.

To be fair, we've now had basically two full months to figure this out. I'd be interested to know why all of a sudden the buyout complications are coming to light.

We are all interested. It's interesting. Soon.

January 21st and it looks like Gattis is still our OC, but I'm feeling better about his tenure coming to an end.🤞🏾

Nothing is ever easy for us. We have contract issues, transcript issues, our pets heads are falling off…

I disagree. But maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction . . .

We can find the sorry-est, most half-azzed coaches in the history of football - with no trouble, no stress. #1 !!!!!!

If there were trophies - we'd have to build another structure just to hold our 20-year collection.

I seriously doubt many people know what’s fully going on. They just know he won’t be here next year.
Do you have any insight on what we’ve been pitching to the offensive portal targets regarding what offense we will run next year?

Every team that wants rid of a coordinator: Coach X has been relieved of his duties and we thank him for his time at University Y.

Miami: Well actually, we put a clause in Gattis's contract that means he gets to sue us if we fire him/we gave him too much money and now we can't fire the statistically worst OC in school history without someone else giving him a job first pls pls pls someone hire our trash OC

Wish UM had a law school . . . we seem to have a real problem with our coaching staff contracts. Ho Li Crap!

They got some real slicks in Louisiana - some things are just counter-intuitive.

reporters aren't "too lazy to get the info" on the OC job at the university of miami

it's more likely the 2nd one or mario hasn't told anyone but has just given vague statements about changes leaving it up for interpretation for recruits (which seems more likely)

I only pop into this thread occasionally, but I feel like I'm being gaslit "Trust me, bro, he's definitely gone. Don't know what the hold up is, but he won't be here next year".

That's not a shot at anyone, before you get your knickers in a twist, but man this process is weird.
