▪ We’re told UM quarterbacks coach Frank Ponce left by choice; he was not forced out.

There remains some mystery around offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. Two UM football staffers said early this week that they haven’t seen him around recently and aren’t sure of his job status. He remains listed as offensive coordinator on UM’s website but wasn’t involved in the pursuit of the Southern Cal receiver, Bryant. One player conveyed that he saw Gattis last week, and Canes players are still using his playbook.

If it was by choice Ponce sure took it hard and was very distraught “ about leaving”. Anyone that believes that I have some Oceanside property for ya.

The explanation here could be as simple as Mario wants to vet some NFL options before making a decision. If so, this could drag out for a couple more weeks.

Then why the **** are players still reportedly using Gattis’ playbook? Lmaoooo seriously, what’s going on. How has it come to this. If you’re gonna fire him, fire him. The kids atine is better spent just working fundamentals and with personal coaches than reviewing a debunk playbook lmfao. I just don’t understand why this is such an inexcusable cluster of drama. To what end does the way this has been handled have had any benefit.

It's an invalid question because there is zero perspective. Golden didn't have the budget for a top OC and the D was horrendous. Fisch was a diamond in the rough but Coley was brought in for recruiting juice and not because he was a 'top offensive mind' like MackBammer wants you to believe. Uncle Jimbo has been carrying the guy his entire career.

Richt refused to fire his son and the Enos hire failed because the QB room had literal potatoes in it. Lashlee was the only marquee OC hire that Miami has made in nearly 20 years leading up to the Gattis hire, and a lot of Rhett's success was in part due to getting King here and then TVD salvaging what was likely going to be a doomed season in '21.
Hopefully you are right because we don't have a good track record of hiring good OCs.

Idk man it's just a mess. Pretty much every HC makes a decision on their staff a week or two after the season and then hires their replacements a week or two after that and then they hit recruiting hard in January and start building the offense. It's been 7 weeks and we have not hired one coach which im sure is effecting the WR recruiting and we have no clue what's going on. Mario just doesn't seem to give af what the fans think or want. He's going to do things the way he wants them do wether their out of the ordinary or not. All I can say is he better win.
