If this is true, I don't see how this is saving face (if that is in fact what the delay is) - he is going to leave being the OC at a major P5 school to become the WR coach at another major P5 school and people are going to think 'yeah, that makes sense'.

You can have whatever staff you want, but if your players are not up to par with Top 10 teams, then welcome to TCU at National Championship game. No thanks. I am a patient person in this age of microwave reactions. Change is coming, soon, at the coaching staff level. Just be patient.

Tierney seems like a high risk high reward option.

You’re putting a lot of your hopes on a guy that is in his first year of being an actual position coach at any level. You’d have to be ULTRA confident this is THE guy.

Another bad season next year would really put Mario in a tough spot. Not saying I’m against the hire but holy crap would it really be a ballsy move.

Seems like he needs to go with something more proven like a Dan Mullen or Seth L
