Levity was needed some I came back temporarily lol...

Probably not gonna see too much come Spring camp tbh
welp. I look forward to your assessment of the new OC. Hopefully it’s a name you’ve touched on before on here so I can go back and read

I don’t think ponce is a bad coach. Is he replaceable? Of course but he isn’t this terrible coach
not a good coach for UM. thats a randy/Manny type move and even Manny didnt make that mistake of making him an OC. hard pass esp w the supposed budget we have

Just because you have money doesn’t mean you just spend the most possible. You hire guys who can coach. I think ponce is solid but gets dragged down with gattis offense

eh agree to disagree. keeping ponce as an OC would be the end of the Mario era for me. it'd be very much in line w other coaches refusing to fire their buddies or kids. hes not deserved of a full time OC job at this level imo. he can't be kept as on Field QBC w a new OC coming in who should be the QBC.

I’m not saying keep him as oc but if it were to happen he has shown he can coordinate a good offense

Tbh I think he’s collateral damage. It’s not his offense or scheme. Wr’s, qb’s and OL weren’t feeling this offense and had issues with it.
That's kind of where I am with Ponce. If he were to return, I wouldn't be mad about it. Now, in a year from now, we should have a better feel for how productive he is/isn't, but I do think the combo of injuries and Gattis may have cast an unnecessary negative light on him.

Gattis
Ponce
Addae
Can’t decide on Field or Steele for the last one so I’m going Field
Gattis
Ponce
Smith (easiest position to recruit/coach) and would give the new oc an extra spot to fill in for continuity/familiarity with their system
Addae (rubbing everyone wrong way/disconnect between secondary and rest of defense)
Rod Wright (what has he done since he’s been here?)

Field is a Mario guy going back to Oregon so id expect he would be safe.
