There is D’Onofrio……..Enos and Gattis with the most wanted fired by fan base in the last decade.
Gattis is horrible but I still maintain D'Onofrio is still the worst coordinator I have ever seen in college football. Ever.

Lashlee was a good coordinator that schemed his way into points often.

He was never blessed with a dominant oline, but against good defenses we never excelled at getting the ball out of the QBs hands quickly, and the run game was way too one dimensional. Even without a great o line, why not run counter off of the inside zone? Or pin and pull?

I get it’s air raid so he wanted to keep the run game simplistic so he can move quick, but his run calls just burnt plays. The defense would key in on it and he still wouldn’t add simple wrinkles to it to take the heat off IZ. That was never going to cut it against elite teams.

I count 5 NFL players in that picture that completely wasted their time at UM because of D’No and there could be more but I can’t see the numbers.

Proud to say that at some point in 2013, my phone autocorrected D’Onofrio to ******* every time I typed. Was incredible

the biggest issue w this is that the down and distance were favorable for a run and we were playing GT while they still ran the triple option

Exactly. I was at this game and I've never been angrier. They passed SEVEN TIMES the entire game. And our MLB is 8 yards off the ball. They were 9/14 on 3rd down.

I mean don't get me wrong, Gattis is a firm #2 but D'Ono was something else.

The KST QB threw a combined 29 times in 2 games (vs 44 rushes), the kid from Nebraska threw 13 passes and Golden/NoD have our safeties sitting so far off the screen you could only see them on blimp view. I've never seen a defensive scheme based on being so scared shyteless in my life

Things could have been very different if Al hadn’t hitched his wagon to D’No. Golden wasn’t a bad talent evaluator and quite a few guys he recruited and coached became solid NFL players.
