Theoretically, Mario could tell kids that they are moving in a different direction and explain what he is looking for in next hire?

Im in the same boat, if Gattis is retained I will be taking a break for awhile. I generally try to stay supportive and positive but that would be the final straw that broke the camels back. Fortunately I cant imagine there is a way that happens but you never know I guess.

If you don't believe that UM's portal analyst and Alonzo Highsmith haven't been back channeling portal recruits you're naive. Full court press and they will have a consistent message "the offense will be changed" ... and I would hope that something happens on the OC front prior to Monday. We will see.

You’d be surprised how many kids themselves create the connections and opportunities in these situations

I’m not saying it’s the end of the world but it’s naive to think that it’s not hindering us to drag this out. There is absolutely no benefit and it most certainly will affect recruiting through the portal negatively

Not arguing with you, but it's got to be at least on some player's minds wouldn't you think?

I mean, if you're a stud receiver, who is in the portal looking to go to a different school and make an impact and get more playing time, how can you look at Miami's body of work in 2022 and not notice is was utter dog$hit? (Because of Gattis)

I'm trying not to be a glass half empty guy, but I tend to agree with the thought of "the longer Gattis is here the harder it will be to get legit and meaningful help from the portal."

Fire his *** yesterday!

With the portal, sometimes kids create the contact.

I imagine they are less likely to do so with gattis as the oc

Oh and we’re back channeling EVERYONE that we’re getting a new OC and that hasn’t gotten out yet?

I think what people are saying is that conversations are happening behind the scenes. Recruits and transfers aren't getting their coaching news from message boards and Twitter.

I do think he’ll be gone but I think that there is zero reason for us dragging our feet and we are not telling recruits he’s gone (at least on a broad scale) otherwise it would have leaked

Also as I’ve mentioned, portal players initiate contact quite frequently and they won’t do so with gattis still employed

Portal players initiate contact frequently. Why would they initiate contact in the first place if gattis is still employed therefore we would never have a discussion

And it would have leaked by now had we been telling multiple prospects that he’s gone . 1 or 2 tops? maybe. More than that, absolutely would be leaked by now
