Mario is about to let another one get away. Smh.

Haha, Mario missing an opportunity to hire a SB HC offensive guru. Too cheap to outbid the Walton family.

Maybe Mario and The Loafers, behind the scenes...

The ONLY thing that has been reported is that Gattis and Ponce didn't get along and had different ideas of how the QB should perform. So ... since Ponce reports TO Gattis ... you have to assume that Ponce had minimal if any impact on the QB's as he wasn't permitted to do what he wanted to do.

But but but Ponce is the passing game coordinator and our passing game sucked. So Ponce must suck.

That's what posters will say who have no **** idea how coaches interact at this level. Passing game coordinator is one of those silly new coaching monikers that are added to roles to add superficial value to whatever title. It's the new big thing the last half decade along with co-oc and so on.

Ponce could be a great QB coach and we'd never know it as Gattis is the play caller. He designs the plays and even if Ponce suggests plays, Gattis signs off on them or doesn't. Come game day, it's on Gattis. Our guys didn't forget how to throw. Their throwing motions haven't changed. That's stuff you'd see and could be traced back to a QB coach. So again, it's Gattis, but some will parrot Ponce sucks when there's nothing one can point to to validate such a statement.

If Reggie comes home to coach the Wr’s at the U, at least we know those dudes will be taught how to run crisp routes.

Dude was one of the best route runners I’ve ever seen. He was on that Jerry Rice route running ish!

I would take him in a minute. Being a WR coach, I'd put it at the top of the list for easiest coaching positions. He's one of the best to ever play the position and if he can communicate his knowledge then he'd be fine.

I could see Ponce moving to OC/QB coach and Coley coming in as Co/OC/WR coach
Wouldn't be my first choice but definitely better than the crap we have now. If I remember correctly, Ponce actually turned that scrub Chase Brice into a serviceable player.

Catpiss just needs his players to be more physical for his offense to be less offensive, and Mario is hard at work on that.

Blame @Rellyrell for this one, he planted the seed early this morning when I read this.
