My worthless thoughts here

Does Riley have full control at TCU? I feel like because Dykes is HC even if Riley's calling plays it MAY not be HIS offense he envisions himself running. Mario would give him full control (I'd hope) which could be enticing.

You're Riley and offered 1. A promotion (let's be real, an OC opportunity at Miami is still coveted over TCU for most), 2. Full control of your offense, 3. A big *** raise

I wouldn't think it would be far fetched at all that he could take the job here.

I tried to paint the same picture yesterday but idiot mopes here don’t wanna use common sense.

Tcu just had to raise Dykes’ pay a couple weeks ago to get him to the $6-$6.5mm range. So I’d be shocked if they are spending $1.5 $2.00mm on a coordinator

😂 at thinking Riley is going to go from the CFB Championship game to the same position at a program that just went 5 - 7 and work for a micromanager HC who will force him to bleed the play clock on every down. You guys are priceless.
Yeah, I don’t know why he would do that. Lashlee went from here with Manny to a HC job at SMU. After this year Riley can do the same, win or lose against UGA.

Honestly Riley doesn't seem realistic to me. He can get everything we could offer by staying put and its a lot less risky IMO.
The thing is there are a lot of realistic options out there that would be massive upgrades.....**** one works doing the street at fiu.

Didnt Gattis basically do the same thing last year (except his team lost in the semifinals)...

Totally different scenario. Gattis WANTED OUT of Michigan as he had a falling out with the administration. He thought he was next in line for the HC position at Michigan. When Harbaugh left to interview with the Vikings for the HC job in January the administration immediately prepared a list of candidates to interview ... and it was leaked ... Gattis didn't even make the list. He was ****ed ... even tweeted his players "would you stay at a place where you were not wanted?". Mario had struck out on his attempts to hire several candidates ... with Jason Candle changing his tune and opting out due to not being able to hire any of his assistants. Clock was running ... Mario "grabbed" the "Broyles Award Winner", and Gattis leaped at the opportunity to get out of Michigan. Backfired.

Would love Riley at UM but he can spend one more season at TCU and then likely have a number of HC offers. No reason to leave for Miami unless the money is such he can‘t say No and TCU declines to match or offer close. After all, isn’t this Dykes’ offense? Who calls the plays?

Riley has been with Dykes for a while. He‘s in a comfort zone and doesn’t need Miami to present himself to HC opportunities.

Wouldn’t be upset if I‘m wrong and he’s Canes OC in two weeks.

Hard for me to get excited about any OC rumor until Gattis actually leaves
Agree ... but ... I continue to check in multiple times daily hoping to find SOME realistic confirmation that UM has actually at least decided to move on from Gattis as I can't grasp any logical scenario in which Gattis returns after having demonstrated to be so lacking in the basic skills required. I am hoping that Mario has been burning up the lines behind closed doors getting the staff re-structured to the same level as the roster. Seems hard to believe however given the total lack of any confirmation by him.

It is interesting that Dykes wasn't totally happy with Lashlee. Thought he was too focused on trying to force a run game. As soon as Lashlee left, Dykes said he wanted to go back to a "true Air Raid" and hired Riley. Flash forward a couple years and Dykes takes over a 5 win TCU team and is playing for a natty in his first season. I don't think Cristobal has any interest in an air raid based offense, so I doubt the Riley rumor has legs.

Seems more likely it's being teased to the fans so that after Riley re-ups with TCU for 2+ million, Cristobal can justify bringing back Gattis by leading us to believe he tried to upgrade the offense, but his top choice stuck with TCU.

Just some possible names Mario is familiar with.

Ludwig
Arroyo - Please No.
Riley - Would probably cost 2mil.
At least $2mil. The way our offense played last season, I wouldn’t be mad with $3mil. cause 1. It ain’t my money. and 2. I’m tired of trotting an offensive looking offense outchea erry Saturday. Sooo Idgaf but whoever got the money… make his *** say, “No”!
