Then we get to make up another one!

I'm sure he'll be gone. But predicting or trying to understand Mario's timeline is impossible and exhausting.

Real talk though, I know for sure this guy is gone, but for those of you who don't, have you seen him at all? I mean, at all? Every coach is tweeting after every commitment, guys are tagging coaches, Alonzo, Ruiz, I think Sebastian the Ibis is more present than this dude is right now. Isn't that the writing on the wall you need?

I get it, he shouldn't be employed here right now. No doubt. But I don't see how you can think this dude is really staying here next year when he's a ghost right now during the most important part of the off-season.

My bigger issue is the WR room. We have missed big there in recruiting. I think Gattis being employed has dissipated all hope on the trail.

supposedly he had dinner with one of our recruits or something? But, yeah, I don't see his name being tagged much, if at all. At this point I am more focused on the recruiting aspect and the prospect of landing a top 3-5 class which after our 5-7 irrelevant season would be almost miraculous. I am sure that is Mario's focus right now. Whether Gattis is staying or going these 'cruits don't seem to be so obsessed about it as us fans.

Last week he had dinner with a recruit (ray day?) From this past weekend Johnson tagged him in his committed and in article talked about how Gattis showed him how he’ll be used and told him he has a great chance at getting early PT.

It's not over until it's over. Big weekend supposedly. Wait and see how it all shakes out.

This is fair - however just seems strange not making an announcement. I dont think getting rid of him would have an effect on ESD with current recruits. But i have to wonder if keeping him has had a effect on our ability to attract a top WR from the portal

We need WRs that can play and contribute big in '23 first. Those are transfer guys. We still have plenty of time with transfers.

There could be elite wr talent sitting on other rosters right now that could see us hire a legit oc and with the right nil enter the portal and be on our team by January or even May...

I think Cane fans have been jaded by our recent past and are skeptical that the changes will be made. I'm choosing to be patient and trust the insiders but there's a voice in my head telling me that Mario might feel that the problems were mostly on the players and not on the coaching.

I hope that small voice is wrong and will await to see what happens by February.
