You guys give these kids and their handlers too much credit 99% of the time. They want/need money and that’s it. Pay the kids and they’ll come.

Most of them dont give a **** about winning or losing. They aren’t looking at who will develop them because in their minds they are ballers. They are looking to get paid. Plain and simple.
 
Is this one of those instances where Miami "isn't going to overpay"?

I'm not being a smartass, just trying to understand. It's been said many times that Miami is very competitive with NIL but it seems not enough to compete for the CB, DT, or QB. If thats the case, Miami can't ever make it back.

Considering we struck out on all our top tackle prospects. JJ smith is going to taint. We should have a boatload of money left over.

Listen up Good to all y'all pontificating M'fers, Coach Joe is good in my book!

If you know and follow Dline recruiting especially DT recruiting, then you'll understand that this is the most highly sought after position in recruiting and also where the money is dropped to not only the players but also the multitude of handlers who helped the family.
Oh the more often than not the amount of money being dropped is more than UM is willing to spend. Case in point the Bear Alexander move from UGA to USC.
This LA apartment is not cheap


Then, also throw in the local draw to stay home in the various locales for most players, and along with lack of recent inability to put players in the NFL, missing on our DT targets is not a surprise. Coach Joe has a long history of developing talent slowly and more so blue collar hungry development players he identifies with rather than super star pre- madonnas.

Coach Joe has the DT's on our roster playing at an insane level, and winning + on field production is what will get these kids An opportunity in the league which is what will long term build DT recruiting. Slow and steady building the trenches takes time.

It’s an obvious observation that we’ve been caught up with. I’m not an insider but I have eyes

It boils down to this…TALENT wins games 99% of the time. It’s why the Yankees used to win, why the Patriots won, why UGA wins now. They coaches aren’t magicians. Saban sucked in the NFL with more even playing fields. If we can’t get TOP classes, we will be like UNC,Oregon,USC,etc…good but not champs

I do t like to talk about myself, but I coached baseball at a high-ish level for a while. We used to say “ball don’t lie.” We could coach our asses off, and if the other team had better ball players we lost 99% of the time. It’s why recruiting exists.

I’d bet Mario is ******* ****ed behind closed doors because they promised him MONEY to build something great. Right now he’s building something good, not great. We’ll be Oklahoma state for years to come at this rate.

He is 16. He is taking meaningful college snaps for at least two years. 2025 season. Miami just needs to move forward with other players and hopefully by 2025 no one even cares what blunt decided to do. Blount wasn’t contributing in 2024 no matter who he picked he will be like 17 years old right?

Yeah I mean if he can’t see the production Bain is having on top of Taylor’s nfl success and staying home to pay then re isn’t much more you can do. Kids will be kids. Grass is always greener until it’s not. FSU is the cool
School all the sudden when a year ago they wanted to fire their head coach. Let’s see how good they are once they lose Travis and all the transfers after this year.
