Joe Brady Record Setting Offense

This is for all of the porsters on CiS that swore that Joe Brady sucked as an OC choice when Mario was rumored to be interested in him being our OC a few years ago.

The Buffalo Bills are the first team in NFL history to have an offense pass and rush for 30+ TD’s in the same season. The dude is an offensive football guru, like some of us thought he was.

I remember many of you saying that he was just the “passing game coordinator” at LSU, when he clearly was the one big difference that season that LSU won the title with their historic offense. The bottom line is, if you give this guy weapons, he will use them to carve up defenses. His stint at Carolina doesn’t count because he was given mostly crap talent to work with. Dude has proven that he’s a star.
He needs the talent like any other coach to look like a genius.

I was on the Brady train too, but what are you going to tell us next? That whomever is calling plays for Mahomes is really good, too? With all due respect to Brady, Allen is remarkable and 3rd and less than 5 are nearly unstoppable with his running ability.

Now give a review of his offense while the coordinator at Carolina. Talent matters.

At Buffalo he has a top 2 MVP candidate as his QB

At LSU, well we all know what he had there.

Joe Brady at NYJ, NO, NE, LV, and JAX is fired in three years. CHI gives him a chance.

Josh Allen makes a lot of people look good.

This isn’t an endorsement or a slight on Joe Brady, it’s just a fact.
How come he didn’t make Ken Dorsey look as good as he has Joe Brady? Asking for a friend

…and for the record, I believe that Dorsey is also a good OC and play caller.

Did you not read my entire post? I said that if you give him weapons (meaning talent), he will use it to obliterate opposing offenses.

The bottom line is that the guy can call plays and scheme with the best of them.

Then he wouldn’t need legitimate the best players at QB, WR, and RB to be successful. He sure couldn’t scheme with the best of that without talent. He’s overrated as ****.

I’ll reiterate that they had a top 5 offense in 2022. And when Dorsey was fired they were second in EPA in 2023. It was on Allen turning it over. Not Dorsey. You think bc they have the second best scoring offense this year that it’s all Joe Brady? That somehow he resurrected Josh Allen? Are you sure?

Has he really been better this year? The only thing he’s done better is not turn the ball over. This was the first time he hasn’t throw for 4K yards since 2019 and he wasn’t even close. He was under 3800. One less passing TD than last year, 7 less than 2022. Back down to 63% comp after he was 66% last year.

He’s got a better running game with Cook and Davis this year and he’s running more instead of forcing balls into coverage. That’s the difference. Nothing more.

He didn't make Ken Dorsey look good....
Top 5 offense in 2022 and top 2 EPA in the league in 2023 when they fired Dorsey. He was the scapegoat bc they were 5-5. McDermott fired Dorsey to save his own job.

Allen’s numbers took a huge dive this year, except for his turnovers.

Brady has definitely proven he can put up huge numbers with first ballot Hall of Fame quarterbacks and Pro Bowl caliber receivers at his disposal.

Regardless we should spare no expense to replicate Brady's style of ball. If our room were stacked with Smith, Trader, Inniss, and a bunch of elite SoFL DBs, we could win a bunch of games and portal in QBs and OL.

The issue is people on here are emotional. They get way to high and way too low on coaches and players. Look at his career.

Successes
-LSU pass game coordinator with 2 All Pro receivers, an All Pro QB and a 1st round RB.

-OC for Josh Allen and an already really good Bills team

Failures
-OC for Panthers who are terrible with a terrible QB

What in this resume says he’s an elite OC? What proves he’s deserving of a HC job? Also tell me what here says he’s awful at his job and doesn’t deserve to be an OC at the NFL level? Sometimes it has nothing to do with how good the coach is and just how good their players are.
I wouldn’t call the panthers tenure a failure, if teddy doesn't get hurt they finish better, got hurt week 7 and played thru it. He had dj moore and robby anderson both reach 1k yards

There defense was very bad, i think they ended up drafting all defensive players because of it but the offense wasn’t failure level for a first time nfl oc

The offense was fine. Top 5 in 2022 and 2nd in EPA in 2023 before he got fired. Allen was turning it over too much and McDermott fired Dorsey to save his own job. Wins and losses aren’t coordinator stats.
Only miami fans think dorsey wasnt the problem lol, all bills fans and analysts say he was bad despite what the numbers say. Let me guess the bills coach fired him to save his job just like the browns coach fired dorsey to save his job? Maybe dorsey just isn’t a good OC

Allen was still 1st in epa with all of those turnovers too btw and led them on a win streak to get in the playoffs after brady took over

I’m not a Dorsey apologist and don’t think he’s ever been a top OC. All I did was point out the numbers. The total numbers are comparable and Allen’s were actually better under Dorsey. Again the difference was Allen playing hero ball and turning it over. He stopped doing that this year. He also was sacked less this year than ever in his career. By half. That’s a massive drop off. Add in Cook instead of Singletary and you’re in a much better spot.

2020 defense was nothing special but the 2021 defense was not the problem. They were top 2 in yards per game and like 20th in scoring. That means the offense and special teams put them in really bad spots.

Why do u think allen had to play herro ball tho?Thats kinda the point, that has some to do with the offense too, u think he just stopped doing it mid season? Brady built a more cohesive offense

Im not dismissing his turnovers but he was still among the top guys in epa. I think dorsey is just better suited as an analyst or qb coach imo
