Pete really did a number on us here with hyping this kid up so much, and setting us up with the whole "he will play around on social media but I expect him in this class" BS.

I know that recruiting changes by the day, but a lot of us would have moved on already if wasn't for all his optimism and his insane hyping of this flake.

Still think Pete is the best in the business, but he hasn't even come on this thread b/c he knows the kid is gone.

Wouldn't be so ****ed if the kid didn't anoint himself Sean Taylor Jr and post that nonsense about never letting him down.

Agreed. A lot of posters on this site have been saying for months that this kid is gone only to be condescendingly shot down and told they were wrong. I'm never mad about Pete being wrong, it's when the bull**** hype machine gets going and we are made to feel stupid even though all the evidence is to the contrary of what is being reported. The fact that it happens every year on this site with a prospect or two blows me away.

Can’t blame Pete for McFarland flipping at the last second because he wanted to stay home there is exstenuating circumstances and Pete doesn’t know Maryland kids. Now Jobe is a whole different story Pete went to school with jobe. But just like McFarland I don’t blame Pete, pete got played by someone who he considered a friend and jobe used pete to troll us. Pete ran with info he attained from someone he considered a friend I’m sure he didn’t expect jobe to lie to his face and trusts what jobe tells him over some random writer from rivals.com.

I feel bad for pete bc y’all are going to crucify him but don’t forget who the bad guy is. Pete continues to show love for this team, coaches, and the Miami community. Jobe just played all of us to go get a couple bags from basically the devil himself. Jobe is a total POS imo don’t know his parents but usually when someone’s this age is acting so entitled it’s an indication of how they were raised.

Jobe is worse then Chris Henderson bc jobe has played Miami fans(coaches know what is going on) for a long time. Henderson going to Florida was not premeditated but he didn’t like getting disciplined for acting like a child so we somewhat pushed him there. What I don’t understand is jobe is supposed to be boys with bandy, Frierson, Ivey, has preached be 1000% committed why would you not just decomitt instead of disrespecting your friends and hometown like that? It’s looking like it is pretty set in stone he is not coming here anymore just the fakeness on the way out is what is gonna get him knocked on his *** in that 2021 game.

NO to Kerryon Smith. Go out and get another 5 star from out of state to replace Jobe, or if you whiff you whiff. Then grab an elite guy next year. Filling up the roster with "underrated" 3 stars is what got Golden in trouble.

This is the first recruiting class since the early 2000's to buck that trend. But losing Jobe is no bueno.

They have 40 players on their current roster who were 4/5 stars in high school. We have 25.

Someone posted that graphic the other day. Stars do matter.

I don’t think you get it. We’re not recruiting three star guys dude. We have the #3 class in the nation, you’re having a bytch fit because we lost one guy and now have to replace him for a “lesser” player when these “lesser” players are how you build depth behind the 40 4/5 stars.

Alabama has 65 4/5 stars.

We do have options outside of Smith or Divaad Wilson.

Asante Samuel and Patrick Surtain, for example, would be good substitutes.

Or just leave the spot open for next year. We have so many stud DB's coming in this cycle, maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing to spread it out over two classes. And grab Akeem Dent and some other highly regarded guys next cycle.

Again - at least for me, it's not about the right or wrong. It's the condescending shooting down of posters who ask fair questions based on evidence. Pete truly is unique and is the best in the game, but if you're going to attack your readership when they question your info and sources when there is abounding evidence that you are wrong then you better be up to the blow back. At least acknowledge that you were misled and hold your L. Then we all move on.

The thing about it is, Ivey seems to be the only pure Corner we have committed. Diaz versatility on the back end. Of course yes Surtain would play Corner and Frierson back at safety is what you would think they would do.

I’m actually thinking he’s been gone of awhile...it explains us getting involved with Keidron Smith late and never giving him an offer, same can be said with John Huggins.

Please offer Smith. He's built like Jobe and has potential to be just as good. Younger and still developing.

I agree, but then they should have a backup plan. And not some 3-star "underrated" type either... I mean a nationally regarded stud who is equal to Jobe.

Last year, the staff whiffed on Jeudy but they pulled Jeff Thomas out of thin air. THAT'S how the staff can get it done.

Right! just like Renfrow is an exception, Tanner Muse, Kelly Bryant(Espn I believe was the only school that rated him a 4*), their Starting TE, and 2 starting O-linemen.
