One doesn't affect the other.

Miami basketball will continue to struggle until a concerted effort is made to increase NIL for basketball. Football has the money, but that's not the same story for basketball
Assuming Jans is interested, I’d think assurances would have to be in place about NiL

All the assurances can be made but those are meaningless if the internal effort is to lean NIL money heavily into football with other sports fighting for scraps. This has been the only way Miami football can remain competitive with the big money spenders.

Fair point. At this stage, like it or not, NiL is probably part of every coaching conversation at any high major.

We won’t attract much if we don’t offer a tangible plan involving numbers

It has been said on this board that nil for hoops is solid? Are we backtracking on that now?

Is it blueblood good… probably not. But I think it’s better than 95% of acc programs

Will Miami up the basketball NIL to help him compete for talent?
Speaking only as to one played on the current team (but knowing a bit about other players NIL contracts), UM is very competitive. We may not offer what Kansas, Kentucky and Duke offer, but we are not NIL poor for basketball. We certainly pay enough to have a NCAA tourney team every year.

You may know more than me for facts but I would bet this lineup in a top 25 NIL lineup in terms of $$$.

So Pack is Lykes 2.0?
I hate to question an injury but Pack was looking for a way out whereby he could keep the NIL money and keep a year of eligibility.

FYI, i wish NIL was pay to play. Without that, players can do what Pack is doing with no financial repercussions so long as he meets his NIL requirements which are not connected to performance.

Dude has already been in college 5 years. Crazy to me he would even be eligible for a 6th somewhere.

It is. Our pieces just don’t fit together this year, our highest paid player called it quit after 8-9 games so he could redshirt while still collecting his NIL money, and Coach L was checked out.

Saw said player in the parking lot after the game carrying the boot that he had been wearing for everyone to see during the game. And walking perfectly fine without it in the parking lot.
