Job offered

“He guys you may hear a bunch of rumors”

Is different than: I was offered the Miami job.
Update fellas: I was offered the Texas and UNC jobs that aren’t open yet either. Go State!

This thread is playing out like a Dr Pepper college football commercial. Brian Bosworth is due in any minute with his badge.
Need to have multiple emoji reactions lol

This is something that often gets overlooked with L. He took this program to new heights, but we were rarely consistently good. The highs were high, but the lows coming off the highs were low, and in this season's case, historically low.
Under L, as long as L didn’t lose absolutely everyone(as he did after the 2012 season) nor have the FBI/NCAA kneecap the entire program, the product has been pretty consistent. L was the first coach in program history to advance to 3 consecutive NCAA tournaments(should have been 4, Miami was an obvious snub in the first year of the Angel/Mcclellan era). You can argue that losing all momentum from a bogus FBI investigation was similar to getting the death penalty, yet L was able to rebuild and put together the best two year run in program history.

It’s amazing how some are trying to act like L lucked into the best run in program history. L did more with less for years. The issue is that his best run of sustained success was cut short and crippled by something beyond his control and by the time he got it going again, the sport was changing in a way that limited Ls best traits. A coach that develops and teaches isn’t nearly as useful today because high end kids don’t want to learn and develop. They have all the leverage, and it shows in how coaches manage rosters now.
