Michael Sam coming out is not close to being as courageous as Jim's fight with cancer and his positive attitude. He should have been honored while still alive as he might not be here next year.

Dude…it's about $$$

They are making a play for a larger audience--homos

Hate to say it…but the cancer feel good story has been done--over and over. <----That's how they look at this stuff.

I agree on the Kelly getting the award. But Sam deserve big props and the award as well.

Imo, he deserves zero credit for coming out. This isn't some condition that is threatening his life. Its a lifestyle he choose to live. Nobody would even care about it if it wasn't jammed down our throats by the media.

This thread delivers. Agree completely. Sam ain't do a **** thing to earn the Arthur Ashe, nothing at all. Your sexual orientation means jack squat. *** you are? Fine. But to get an award for it is deplorable.

Sam has done nothing for the game, hasn't even played a snap in the league yet. Jim Kelly on the other hand, lawd Jesus we could talk that all day, mixed in with his epic battle with cancer.

I'm sorry, but ESPN and Mike Sam are jokes. Not because he is ***, but for using his sexuality in this manner.

F'n award for coming out of the closet, what's happening in our country?

CarolinaCane.....No....it's like one poster said..being *** and coming out is jammed down out throats....you get tired of hearing about it.

What a thread. You Neanderthals make me proud to be a Cane. :ohlord:
Please explain why you think Michael Sam deserved the award. Look, this isn't about us having one view or another regarding sexual orientation. What did he do besides make the nfl network unwatchable for weeks?
