JC Jackson, someone contact Rumph and tell him to offer him.

@TheFranchise - It's easy to avoid giving a player a second chance or a third chance on life by hiding behind such catch phrases as savages, distractions or criminals etc. The hardest thing for some bigots is to recognize and give credit to the many successful players who have overcome adversities in there life after a chance, then 2nd, 3rd or 4th. As you ignorantly try to white wash the successful stories I'll share a few positives.

What many people don’t realize when they see an NFL player celebrating after getting a first down or dancing after a touchdown is how much he had to overcome just to get there. While the list of guys who have overcome adversity to make a name for themselves in the league goes on for days, these are just a few who did it. Here is five NFL players who overcame adversities and became successful.

1) Micheal Irvin
2) Ray Lewis
3) Dez Bryant
4) Michael Oher
5) Adrien Peterson

Overcoming some of the biggest obstacles you could imagine, these men used the game to give their families hope and to ensure themselves a better future. At the end of the day, is there really more to ask for?

Ground your statements in evidence.

You listed all pros most who will be in the Hall of Fame

He was found not guilty .So was Dalvin Cook. Juvenile court records are sealed so we dont know any priors. But UM has to have entertained the thought of this guy and decided he wasnt worth the risk apparently. There must be more to the story.

Grasping at straws. Let this class go. 2017 will be the class that changes this team and Richt will get the three years he needs to turn this ship around. Everyone on here needs to come to the realization that this team is a few years away from being dominant, so don't go getting your expectations up too high.

Sent a tweet to CMR and Rumph saying it's time to bring JC Jackson in for a sit down from a UM booster. Maybe you should all do the same and you never know.

Better off asking them to bring in Deion Jackson, Malik Bell, and Freddie Pinder.

You lost me at "bigot". This is clearly HarrietTubman with another new account. Sorry you sucked me into a stupid fake conversation.

@TheFranchise - So what did it cost UF? Negative publicity? According to you UF is a breeding ground for criminals. And people like you say UM is a breeding ground for Thugs. Point is people will always have negative things to say about anything or anybody. At the end of the day UF didn't lose or gain a **** thing as you so eloquently pointed out. So it is worth a try.

When it comes to building a team there's more to it than finding guys who like to break into houses and shoot guns and declaring them savages. You have to find guys who can play and who won't be major distractions. I'm sure Briles thought he was smart when he took the blue-chip rapist from Boise State. Then, when the maniac decided to rape again, Briles had to spend an inordinate amount of time lying about not knowing the guy was a rapist. Major distraction.

You want to see how the wrong savages can fck your team up? Take a look at the Bengals most recent playoff game against the Steelers. Two brain surgeons, who UM fans would drool over because they are head cases, Burfict and Pac Man, wind up costing the Bengals a chance at the Super Bowl.

Way too many times teams give guys 3rd or 4th chances when the HC is desperate to get over the hump or to keep his job. Then they find out that a leopard usually doesn't change his spots. Remember Cecil Collins and how he deserved another chance? Demertrious Underwood? The list is a mile long. How about what a distraction Greg Hardy was for the Cowboys all year? Did his handful of sacks justify all that nonsense?

I don't think Richt has reached the desperation point in his second month on the job to take a **** like Jackson.

I kind of get what the guy is saying but I am not sure the term bigot is the right word to use. I think you are not opposed to giving certain guys second chances, etc. if they can help the team; but to me there is also a risk/reward thing of what happens while giving a guy like this a chance he does something extremely stupid and costs the entire team/program? Richt needs to consider the needs of the entire team, not just one guy. It might be different if Richt adopted the kid or mentored the kid taking the responsibility as his own. It is a different story when your decisions affect more than just yourself. I agree that you can't have this carte blanche approach to every single kid just because he can help a team on talent alone. There also has to be some evidence the kid is actually contrite, paid whatever consequences, and totally buys-in to whatever expectations the coach sets forth. It should be a case by case thing. I would not be opposed to Richt giving this guy a chance if he has met some evidence of trying to turn things around in his life.

It's at least worth sitting down with the kid to find out what's going on and where his head is at. Maybe Richt can help him find God. You never know. People around here with the blinders seem to forget a LOT of people say the same crap about Ray Lewis.

Yes IF he clears admissions. Same would be true for the three I added (Pinder, Deion Jackson, malek bell) as all of them are unsigned seniors

Do you expect that they don't know who JC Jackson is or that a tweet from "a UM booster" is going to move them to do something?

Why is it worth sitting down with him? What leads you to believe the good outweighs the bad?

Please explain the comparisons to Ray Lewis and how they are relevant to this situation at this time.

Some people get off on kicking another person when they are down. What's worst than that is their friends won't tell them when they are wrong. Oftentimes it's not until they get punched in the mouth for something they said or did before someone comes to the rescue. Now you take this guy "TheFranchise" checkout all of the derogatory names that he called this kid. All because most fans were lobbying for the kid to be given a chance here as long as he was willing to get his life back on track.

Now this guy gets called out for his behavior. There was no sugarcoating it, he was called out for exactly what it was. Go back and read his posts, I'll wait... It just goes to show you that we are oftentimes so quick to judge other people for their wrongs in life as though we can't and don't do no wrong. We actually surround ourselves with people like this and look the other way, remain silent and make excuses for them. But are to cowardly to speak up for the people that they offend.

If you can be forgiving of this guy, why you can't do the same for this kid who is just starting his life and obviously needs your help to get it going in the right direction?

Now as I stated before in another post, I used the word "bigot" but don't get hung up on the word and lose site on the message. As you all know words have several different meanings. Yes, I could have used another word but as you can see it fits. Why? Because in the same tone and manner that he expressed his disdain for the kid - I say to him deal with it.

Now if that hurts imagine if it was you or your kids life on the line and people like this with no heart stand in the way because they have the power with words and knows how to use them to ensure that you or your kid never get a break again in life.

And that is something to think about.

Quick answer......The Franchise is on a message board. UM football is a football program associated with a University, not a halfway house for troubled youth.

The troubled youth should be the one going out of his way to show he belongs because he belongs, not because a message board sees a gap at defensive back.

If he was cleared of any wrong doing than I don't see what the issue is here.

Would you guys have not signed Ray Lewis after his incident?

Blah Blah Blah, I must be a bigot because I'm not in favor of us taking in a super high risk character that even FLORIDA was unwilling to keep. So tired of the "must be a bigot" line when it comes to black athletes.

The majority of people watching sports understand that a ton of these inner city black athletes overcame adversity to get to where they are. White people overcome adversity too ya know?

And you're just pointing to the success stories. What about the ones who never changed? Who never matured?

I'll trust Richt's evaluation. If it's anything like Butch Davis's then we're in good hands, because Butch did his homework, and for the most part didn't bring in criminal types such as JC Jackson (this isn't JC's first or even second incident btw).

Who cares what we think?! It is richts choice not ours. We are just throwing crap online for fun and don't have to deal with the crap if a kid commits a crime. Personally, I'd take a chance on an academic kid like Deion, Pinder, ...

Furthermore, they could have ignored salomons crime at UGA to take him from USF. His wasn't as bad IMO, stole an iPhone.

My guess is we will see 1-2 grad transfers. Calling all 5th year CB and WR.

When the **** did JC Jackson become Ray Lewis?

What exactly is Ray Lewis crime? I know he was tried for being associated with bad friends who were convicted of a murder. But from what I remember, he wasn't present during the murder nor was found a conspirator. Am I missing something here?
