Depends on if Akeem Mesidor comes back but I think we get 2 transfer DTs. If Mesidor bounces out I believe we lose 5 DTs (Clark, Cook, Campbell and Barrow).

We are taking a minimum of 3 transfers at DT no matter what Mesidor does. need at least 6 than can play to have a great rotation. Next year coming back we will only have Scott and Moten that we can depend on.

We need to add 2 via the portal and have 3+ as true freshmen in order to get to good numbers at the position. Elite high school recruiting will be what makes or breaks us ultimately. Right now this DT class isn't up to snuff. It needs to get there by December.

Going to sign 3 for sure in the December window and take another if needed. We can’t depend on Horton at all I wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred out.

I agree with what you’re saying conceptually. However I don’t think stats for DTs are completely useless. Overblown? Yup. Shouldn’t be used as the sole gauge? Yup. But not completely useless. When I saw 3 tackles for Jackson, I immediately wondered “how many snaps is he seeing?” And assuming it’s a lower number, why? Is he in the second rotation?

To your premise though, if he’s a space eater taking on double teams (pause) in order to keep the LBs clean and he’s effective, stats won’t show that. Film will though.

Dosnt even matter in this case. We a re talkin about a kid that is a TF on a decent sec defense that is getting good burn. In two yrs he is probably an all acc player if he contines to develop.
