Jamie Newman wake forest qb transfer portal

Decent chance he ends up at Oregon. They seem to be the front runner as of right now.
 
New Athletic update on him this morning. Highlights:

-- Miami, Oregon, UGA, Washington, and Maryland in the mix
-- Waiting on Fromm decision and also OC hires at Washington and Oregon before he hones in on his decision
-- He's working out with Quincy Avery right now
-- He wanted to get away from a total RPO based offense (which may hurt our chances here with Lashlee coming on board, my opinion, he didn't say that in the article)
-- Decision hopeful in about 10 days or so

Beyond retarded. But what do you expect around here?

Kid is looking at UGA, Oregon, etc but for the Miami “we just got shutout in a bowl game” Hurricanes, he’s not a take. Can’t make this stuff up. Worst fans on the planet.

People don't realize this...The kid is a DECENT QB...Nothing more or less. He had 2 studs to throw jump balls to last year and the first part of this year...When they got hurt he fell way off. He'll prob get drafted because 6'4, has a big arm, and breaks tackles when he runs. He's also been exposed EVERY SINGLE TIME he steps up in caliber of defenses faced

Again if he wants to come you take him NO DOUBT...Just no idea how he's been placed on this CIS pedestal.

Lamar Jackson could leave the NFL, get a waiver to come to Miami to finish college and play football, and people would *****. Seriously. This kid would be a home freaking run, at any level. Now if Fromm leaves, he's going to UGA, and then everyone will freak. This is just how it works on these boards.
 
It always amazes me how a player can be a stud until he considers coming here, then it's all, "Do not want." By every objective measure Newman's good. Everybody was talking about getting Wake's coach or OC because they were off to a great start. Then the cautious started saying to wait until they didn't have an NFL quarterback to see if they're really that good. I was one of those people. Now that NFL quarterback is potentially transferring here and he sucks?

Thanks svben...Exactly. The kid has some ability...I'd take him.

He's not a sure thing or a savior. The big schools teams are mentioning have one year holes at QB...So of course they are looking at him. Being the best QB in this year's portal crop (thus far) is like winning the coastal.

No I think most with a level head are saying "sure we'd take Newman...But he's not a game changer, super talent that we absolutely have to have"...Again being the best of this year's portal crop or the best Miami Hurricanes QB doesn't make you a game changer.
 
UGA just got a portal QB. 3-star from Nevada, local kid in HS.. prob just a practice player
