Jamie Newman wake forest qb transfer portal

Going to be hard to secure a top notch grad transfer. LSU will be the premium spot for one of those this year with burrow gone. In fact that would be a good landing spot for Newman

Na, that’s probably going to be Jordan Love’s or KJ Costello’s landing spot if he stays

I'm not a Newman guy. He was under 50% passing 4 times this year (4 of last 5 games), under 60% 6 times.

He padded his stats against Utah St, Rice and Elon.
- 11 of his 25 passing TDs and 1,066 of his 2868 passing yards came in those 3 games.
- in this other 9 games? 1804 passing yards and 15 TDs.

Hard pass. No need for a QB from Wake. TVD starts day one. No need to go through the motions. Definitely a hard pass on platooning with this guy.

I’ve watched some of his games and Wake Forest isn’t the most sure handed squad. He was getting top round pick buzz for a while. He’s probably transferring to boost his stock.

He a one year rental or two??

I would take him either way once we get our spread OC in... I fully expect Perry and JW to transfer out and be left with maybe Martell if he doesn’t have a nervous break down during the year, TVD, and Matchoa

They aren't - and i'm not against Newman being a grad transfer if he doesn't count against the 25 ICs. He's a big, strong kid with a live arm and can run.....he's just not without flaws and a slam dunk to take an offense to the next level. His best passes are verticals, so you better build those in your offense if you bring him in. He stands tall in the pocket but pretty stationary and deliberate at times and not the best pocket awareness. Accuracy comes and goes.

Newman threw for 2,868yds 26TD's 11INT's at 60.9% with 574yds & 6TD's rushing.

He's a big physical QB at 6'4 230lbs, good runner & a big arm, average accuracy.

Would absolutely take if we hired a Spread OC, he's not necessarily a great QB but he's significantly better than any of the 3 we got & most importantly he has good mobility.

Newman is a far better option than KJ Costello who's a complete statue in the pocket & can't move at all, we need a QB that can run as well as pass.

D'Eriq King should be the top priority for a Grad Transfer QB this offseason, hire the right Spread OC & do everything possible to land King & we might have something cooking for 2020.
and if you were him why would you come here?

From my understanding this kids Qb coach is Jarren Williams Qb coach, he doesn’t like the way Jarren has been handled lolol

LOL. He ain't coming here. Why keep a program that just won 9 games for a team that can't even beat FIU or LA Tech?

He also isn't some game changer.
