Jalen Brown

Was thinking the same exact thing. If hes soft, frail, doesnt like to "mix it up"..why would we want him at CB?

"Soft" and "frail" when applied to a WR usually means he doesn't make the catch after contact. Which isn't as big of an issue with a CB. Somehow, guys want to turn it into something different.

Neon Deion didn't like to make tackles either, and he is viewed as a pretty good CB, no?

That can be true and he can still be better than just about everything we got. In my very personal opinion lol

True. But I don't think he is better than just about everything we got, certainly not in the current recruiting class. And we can always hit the Portal, there are no IC limits this year.

Let's not forget, we had ZERO-POINT-ZERO drops by WRs in this game.

We can have the difference in opinion and I’ll respect it. I think if he committed today he’s the best in the class but that’s just my very personal opinion. I respect all others!

And he might be the best. I'm just going with the evals by Alonzo and our coaches.

I was around for the Fortay and George recruitments, and those things rarely work out well, regardless of raw talent. I'm not impressed with the Brown family, at least the ones above the age of 18.

I respect our coaching staff 100% and I especially respect Alonzo. Living legend. They’re in sync and that’s what’s needed most along with their great eye for talent. I’m just fortunate enough to know other coaches and other evaluators so I can have a more well rounded view. I see his faults just like everybody else. I’m just higher on his potential highs than the staff in Miami, is all.

And I’ve heard about the family. I’m with you

People also need to take off their "Composite Ranking" glasses. Just because Jalen is a 5-star doesn't mean he is what we want/need at that position.
Well, the staff said it needs to upgrade team speed especially at WR, and he fits the bill there and is local. This is a kid that tests through the roof with his track numbers and he actually produces stat wise on the field against the best HS comp.

It just seems like TO ME they’re going against a lot of what is usually preached in his case. He’s not just a athlete he has stats behind him against great comp lol I don’t know what they see that suggests he won’t improve

Yeah... This isnt a freak athlete that cant produce or a unathletic kid that produces. He has it all. There are some questions about him but not enough to not want him, especially at a position we haven't exactly locked what we need down this cycle. Also he isnt just a SFLA kid he is from Gulliver, only a couple miles down the road from us. Lastly, the one knock is that apparently Alonzo wasnt as high as others on the kid, well while that appears to be true, it has been confirmed that he is still a take. So all in all, it really just comes down to fans being upset that we didnt get picked the first time around.

And as I mentioned before I respect Alonzo’s opinion as I am just a poster on Cis and he’s Alonzo. However in this game you can fall victim to liking what you like a lot. Just cuz Alonzo doesn’t like him doesn’t mean he’s not good lol another evaluator of zo’s pedigree could be in love with him. What I’m trying to say is all these guys have their preferences & types but don’t mistake it for him not being good

Zo was selling Colbie young as an absolute stud steal, lol.. All these guys miss, its part of the game.. Ill take my chances with kid who is 6'1 10.6 runner.. Rather he flop here than go somewhere else..

So is the rumor about him being soft and not wanting to be physical not true? Asking because if he does end up on defense, would he potentially shy away from contact and tackles?
I'd just be offering up an opinion if I answered that. At the end of the day the only two opinions that matter when it relates to present day Miami football is Zo & Mario. I'll say something that's a measuring stick possibly. I thought (& still think)his closest comp is Chris Henderson. To me up to this very second I'd say Chris Henderson is 4 ply Charmin WITH aloe... I don't care about when he was drafted or anything else. I'm simply talking about his style of play seems pretty soft to me.

Respect your opinion but i disagree

Who's telling you colbie young isn't going to be a stud steal?
He got in late but initial response I heard was its gon take some time if anything.. I havent seen myself but I know a couple people around program, I rarely bother for info tho.. Did ask about him, he got time we will see..

I think the important part to remember is he's got time. He obviously needs to adjust to game speed and this level of competition. But from what I've seen out of him I think he'll be a steal AT THE END OF THE DAY.
