2025 J’Vari "Jrock" Flowers 4* CB from Northwestern

not what I was told , thats why he had the hold off and was struggling. OSU had time to counter and they did. Thats how it played out, thats the only thing that makes sense. We offer we are favored (means our offer was better) he struggles with the choice cause OSU feels its UM....they counter and they get him. And i dont want to hear OSU had a QB they had a XFL QB from the portal. Both teams had *** QBs at the time

You don't think JS comes if Cam had already committed to Miami? I have no inside info. But every insider I follow said we matched Taint and he just couldn't pass up playing for that WR coach with a known starting QB (Howard) when we had no one at QB.

Taint outbid Miami the night before Signing Day. Facts.

i personally think that was just negotiating ploy that garnered more money from osu.

I think he was locked in with osu for quite awhile. just my opinion

From a mental standpoint, yes. At the time of his HS recruitment, our position coach vs. theirs? Sure.

But if Taint had not upped the offer the night before, and then put it IN WRITING after he fake-signed his fake LoI, then he would have ended up on Miami. Lots of drama on Signing Day. I still have the texts that flew between a bunch of folks.

OSU would say he’s just there for one season. And they can say we will continue to get the best. So even if it’s a match let’s say, they were more trusted with having qbs. We should have went well over to secure the commitment cause we didn’t have the advantage they did. We needed to they had better leverage

they would have paid whatever it was regardless. Whom his financial advisor is we would've been moving moutains to get him over osu. we were the only school with a shot though legitimately.

Seider is about to become a pest with ND down here like Fran. More so, he's not at Cuse. If he had more time ND might have pulled this off. Getting the visit in speaks to Seider's skills. I don't know what has happened with his Miami visit, yet. I am sure, some know already. Their was still talk of Auburn(died down), ND(darkhorse), before coming, but I think Miami is the only one with a shot to overtake UF here. I personally don't think he goes OOS.

@DMoney in the March 28, 2025 Bank

The staff continues to prioritize CB/PR J'Vari Flowers (Northwestern). He recently reclassified to 2025 and is on campus now for his final official visit. NIL is a factor.

Maybe. And maybe the timing was deliberate in order to prevent Miami from counter-counter-offering.

But I've spoken to some well-informed Taint alums, and they said the money they gave Jeremiah was unprecedented for them. They are NOT "Texas" and "Alabama" and "aTm". The amount of money required caused them substantial heartburn.

And that whole "Jeremiah is picking Taint for love, not money" propaganda campaign they ran the week prior to Signing Day (in the hopes that Jeremiah would NOT take Miami's higher offer) almost backfired on Taint. They had to up the offer, but it was an uphill battle to convince certain people at Taint that they had to compete on a monetary basis, as well as a "coaching/success" basis.

@TheOriginalCane , I realize this is all speculation at this point. But do you believe that if Ward were already signed (and maybe Martinez since the RB room was a mess at the time, too), Smith would be a Cane?

Also, if Taint countered at a higher amount, were we willing to follow? Several of us thought he was a generational type WR at the time. But that wasn't universal, there were naysayers. Were we all in?

I forget who it was but it was a good poster on the board said Smith was the type to hold a grudge, like when a visit he was on to UM leaked and he posted how he would NEVER go back to miami that poster joked he had some stubbornness in him and it might be true.

While Cam would have helped no doubt I doubt it would have made him change. No one knew what Cam was about to do on the Canes, he was still a lil bit of an unknown especially for a 18 year old kid who likely never heard of em before that year. I think taint upped the bag the night before, possibly as a ploy to not let Miami have enough time to counter, Smith said sweet, put it in writing, they dragged their feet and he didnt sign holding em hostage. If they never put it in writing I then could see his rumored stubbornness coming out and concluding if they are so against putting it in writing they aint serious about me and then come to Miami out of spite. Once they put it in writing later that day though I think thats all he needed, even if we matched.

As for Jrock, I am not ready to think Mario concedes this to UF of all places. He likely ran up more than he wanted to with Rashada solely because it was up against uf. His whole fist pounding the podium after winning the state shows he takes it personally. If it was Auburn paying an insane amount, Mario may walk, against UF though? He aint gonna back down.

D$ said on today's Video bank that the OV is ongoing. I don't think he was supposed to be on campus this long. Make of that what you will.
Until he announces "Miami really gave him something to think about" or "Miami opened his eyes" not much to discuss.

How much do you feel we should pay for a kid who won't see the field as anything but a return man for more than likely two years? Before you respond I'll simply say the juice isn't really worth that kind of squeeze. If we didn't just completely flip the db room then yes. Snatch him up. But we did. So that's that.
He will return punts and kicks and I don’t know how much Miami football you’ve watched but we haven’t had a dominant returner since forever go
