- Flowers attended Miami’s Sept. 14 game against Ball State and Oct. 27 game against Florida State ahs has liked the direction of the program, the No. 63 overall prospect and No. 6 cornerback in the cycle told CaneSport. He also feels Texas, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Illinois have moved the needle for him and likes the staffs, defensive schemes and opportunities to play early at each program and made trips to Louisville, Syracuse, Oklahoma and Texas A&M this fall.
- “Miami, I talk to them every week,” Flowers said. “I talk to coach (Roland) Smith, coach (Mike) Rumph, coach (Mario) Cristobal and coach (Chevis) Jackson. Mainly (they talk about) keeping me home and going out there and playing early. …I’m really confident in Miami. It’s attractive, a lot.”
- Flowers said different coaching staffs have shown him the different defensive backs they’ve produced over the years, and most programs envision using him at multiple positions in the secondary. Flowers is currently listed at 5-foot-10.5 and 165 pounds but is a state champion 100M sprinter and state runner-up in the 200M dash. He said each program has complimented his speed.
- Flowers said he hasn’t thought about if or when he may formally announce a group of top schools and hasn’t considered when he could consider announcing a commitment.
- Flowers is a pretty soft-spoken and reserved recruit, but his interest in Miami has been consistent since before he landed his offer. Flowers holds tremendous respect for Smith, who he was initially set to play for at Miami Central before Smith accepted his current position as Miami’s Director of High School Football Relations, and has a strong connection with the legendary high school coach
