Looks like you're reading comprehension is off if you think I'm trashing Cribby at all lol. And again the problem is we can't talk about Marshall, possibly the biggest recruit we could land in like a decade, without y'all deleting the posts without so much as saying the reason until your response just now. And let's not act like y'all haven't made posts/statements before when y'all done stuff like this.

Maybe if we don't have ANY threads about Marshall on the #1 Miami Hurrican fan board, we can still consider it a surprise commitment whenever it is he announces.

this is pretty much what happens in these scenarios or if it’s not the coach, it’s someone in his family.

I’ve been real busy the last few days, so I’ve missed out on a lot of this drama. What did Ivins do that was so different this time? I have an opinion on what happened, but I’d like to hear the full story first.

He’s not scared of Miami. You’re missing the point.

Recruiting is the same as sales, you want to keep your competitors out of your customer base as much as possible. If the cream of the crop from Miami stop leaving, Bama and the rest of the SEC have to fight that much harder elsewhere to meet their needs

Well, his coach already got caught lying about the Canes recruiting one of his players. Then some mystery person leaked the news to Ivins and/or Bama to stop the commitment and Miamis momentum. Then it becomes known that his coach told Marshall "to take a few days to think it over."

You don't need to wait for Scooby Doo to show up in Mystery Machine to unmask the culprit here.

If Marshall, knowing full well that his coach blew up his commitment to push him to Bama, still commits to them then I give up. It would have been a lost cause anyways.

If he chooses Bama it won't be because of the leak. It will be because of Bama throwing in a signing bonus bag for him. The only reason Saban asked him not to commit is probably so he can secure some more money from the boosters.
