Ivins new recruiting info

Some kids want that competition. Williams signed up with Perry and Weldon both in the class ahead of him. Mallory and Jordan signed up in the same class.

And if Zipp comes along with Hodges, knowing Mallory and Jordan are in, then those guys are junkyard dogs, too. The culture change is happening, (not too) slowly but surely.

Yup. Whenever I hear a kid talking too much about depth charts, I get bad vibes. Not that these players never turn out to be good, but I'd rather take a kid that isn't scared of competition. Like Jordan and Mallory. Or Portis, McGahee, and Gore.

Even if there isn't a player directly in front of you at some places, you can bet any coach is going to try to bring in a stud or two the following year at your position. You've got 85 scholarships on a roster - Saban, Meyer, etc aren't going to stop adding talent. Neither should we.

If anyone paid attention to our coach during his Georgia days know he allows had talent on top of talent. He always had some of the top collegiate talemt that in turned did very well at the next level. Guy knows how to manage this type of stuff.

Dumb. The only thing you gain by logjamming another QB this year is one more future transfer. No team on earth carries 4 QBs separated by 2 years of eligibility. You can recruit 10 QBs in 2019 - the only thing youll end up with is 10 transfers.

Your logic is terrible flawed. You’re putting absolutely no credit to the possibility that the guy we bring in today can be a stud and future starter. You aren’t simply “adding a future transfer”. You’re throwing one more line in the water thereby increasing your chances landing the big one (ie the qb that is capable of winning it all).

If I add player X and it causes player Y to leave, chances are player X was better than Y so we actually got better overall. Upperclassmen transfer out when they can’t beat out the younger guys.

This! Only under few circumstances would you not want to bring in a qb every year.
