October 2017: "We have the best secondary in the country"
February 2018: "Fire Rumph, hes a terrible recruiter, our secondary is atrocious"

Rumph needs to be fired. Period.

NONE OF HIS FORMER PLAYERS WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM!

Excuses. Closers close. Bama lost their DB coach and still closed. Butch Davis was a closer, even Shantard was a closer. Rumph is a non closer. Dude’s awkward *** finds ways to get DB’s to sign elsewhere.

Bingo. I came here here to post EXACTLY what u just wrote. Why should we have ANY faith that he can bring any of the 2019 targets in board? I think Jon Richt is a waste of a coaching position. At no time did I watch Kaaya in panic mode or Rosier in "I forgot how to throw mode" & thought.. Good thing Jon Richt is their QB coach. He'll straighten them out. But at least he can get guys to commit AND sign! At least his dad can take over at that point. I dont hate Rumph. I just dont think he is worth a **** here.

Until he produces a string of first rounders and college hardware recipients, I have no idea how you could draw that conclusion.

He's incredibly unproven in this regard. Kuligowski, Mark Richt, Thomas Brown, Searles all have a much longer and successful track record of producing players at their individual position than Rumph right now. That isn't to say he is bad, or even good. I happen to think he's pretty decent as a position coach, but to say he is the best position coach we got...I say this, Good Brother...

Show me.

With that said, Rumph as a recruiter couldn't get a worse grade right now.

Actually I want a Ron Dugans on defense man is a savage! Got Ezzard to commit as well. Say this about Kul at least he locked up Silvera.Rumph can’t even lock up a guy he has coached since the kid was 7 years old.

RB, TE, LB, WR, and DB coaches absolutely HAVE to be incredible recruiters. You can have technicians who aren't great recruiters at OC, DC, DL and OL. But those other position coaches all have to be awesome recruiters. You should be able to hire any competent football coach who can teach at RB, TE, LB, WR and DB.

Rumph needs to go. Anyone defending his retention at this point is either related to him or his agent.

He definitely is a top 3 postion coach on the team, he has been working with the least talented group the last 2 years and the secondary still has been good
 
It's pretty obvious he's not a good DB coach or a recruiter. The technique are DBs showed in the orange bowl was terrible.

All you people that want Rumph gone need to get the **** over it. He'll be here even if you don't like it. Sucks that they didn't land either the of AH corners, it seems like Campbell wanted to go to Miami but had other factors take him to UGA, we'll never really know.

Rumph isn't the best position coach on the team in my opinion but he's up there. He turned a Paul Williams recruit into a productive player that actually had thoughts of leaving school early. He'll get better as a coach and so will the players.

Your are going to blame a kid for choosing Bama and UGA, you must be really stupid. Those are excellent teams and programs. We are still building ours back. This ain't about a single coach...
