Issiah Walker in transfer portal

It ain’t just about this year, we don’t even know 100% if we will have a season this year. Taking 1 year guys like that does nothing in terms of solidifying positions for multiple years

It is about this year. Completely and unequivocally.

Newberg says he expects him to make an announcement by the end of the weekend. Not confident in fsu. Miami logical but not sure of their interest. Basically he’s hearing that Walker has made or is close to a decision, but no idea where.

How plugged in is Nudeberg?

After speaking to several sources today, I’ve learned Walker is nearing the end of his recruitment. I'm told he plans to shut it down, not take any calls for the next few days, to give him time to talk things over with his family. I don’t have an exact date, but I’m being told he could announce a decision as early as this weekend.

Where is Walker going to end up? I’m unsure. Based on my talks with sources today and throughout the week, I am not confident in predicting him to Florida State. Miami is a logical landing spot, but I cannot confirm their interest level in Walker. I haven't been able to confirm any contact between Walker and other programs. I'm not saying that there's been no other contact, just that I do not have that info.

Thanks for this, but this is basically another writer throwing out a bunch of generalities, meaning he actually has no information.

It’s “respect my decision” waiting time

After I made lunch today, I realized I had to write something to keep things flowing on one of the few hopes of revenue stream for this site. I figured to write something vague, like a horoscope, but also need it to be believable and defensible. I don't have anything specific to write.

What did I decide? I couldn't. I have a stomach ache. The chicken sandwich did taste strange. I haven't been able to **** it out and have not confirmed if it was indeed the culprit. To be clear, I'm not communicating it wasn't. Just that I want you to believe I'm a straight shooter.

No I am not Manny Navarro. He said exactly what I said.

@Zoheb N. I think I might have answered your question in a different way had this COVID-19 pandemic not taken place. The fact Miami and all college athletic programs are taking a financial hit in some way shape or form I think shakes thing up in the sense that schools are going to have to look at the bill before deciding their next move. Firing Manny Diaz and paying off what he's owed might not make financial sense if the Hurricanes don't have the money to do it. As Blake James told me a couple of weeks ago, 40 percent of the school's athletic budget comes from ticket revenue. What if fans aren't able to attend games? There's just a lot up in the air now.

The absolutely incredible thing about this, if true, is how they've continuously made complete **** decisions to directly affect people in a front-running event city from...buying tickets.

Admin: "What do we need?"
Consultant: "We need people to buy more tickets."
Admin: "Yes, yes. Makes sense. Why do people buy tickets?"
Consultant: "Well, beyond the core 20k who'll go either way, the others have to be excited."
Admin: "Excited? Like orange carpets and a club like the Phins did?"
Consultant: "No, different crowd. These people just wanna be around for winning events to take pictures and be part of something popular."
Admin: "Oh, ok. Let's increase the Ad budget and social media, but hire ****** coaching staffs."
Consultant: "That's not what I..."
Admin: "Let's also get a fire extinguisher."

If I was told that this G5 transfer tackle is the missing piece to a natty, I’d take that in a heartbeat. But there’s a 99% chance that’s not the case. As a fan, why would you give up a potentially 3-4 year more than serviceable LT for a 1 year rental on a season that can’t make things [that much] worse for Miami?

Techno music at the games might help too..

He’s not the missing piece for a natty but he’s a proven commodity. If anyone thinks there’s some huge jump in competition from the AAC to the ACC, they’re delusional. Outside of Clemson there’s no one from the conference that would dominate there. We have linemen who were 4 star recruits coming out of high school and I would trade any of them for Jarrid Williams. It was only a few years ago that Navaughn McDonaldson was the “can’t miss” Dade county lineman who was going to come in and dominate for 3 or 4 years. We’ve gotten 3 years of uninspiring guard play. He’s also the only senior on the offensive line. It’s not like we’re going to be graduating a bunch of guys after 2020 and we won’t be able to field a line in 2021 without Walker. If Jarrid Williams want to play at Miami, he’s immediately the best tackle on the team and you plug him in as a starter. If Williams goes elsewhere, by all means take Walker and maybe he’ll be able to contribute in 2021.

“Potentially”, “more than serviceable”.

That’s why.

I KNOW that Williams doesn’t suck, at worst. He will start at one of the tackle spots, for sure.

I have no idea how good Walker will be. And Miami is losing every highly ranked south Florida kid this cycle, save a very few. That’s what happens when you have no bags AND you lose. The only hope Miami has in today’s recruiting landscape to compete is to win, and win big. You’ve got a Heisman candidate QB in a system literally created for him. You’ve got good skill talent. You’ve got, at worst, a very good defense. You’ve got an above average punter and kicker. What’s missing? Offensive line. You cannot afford to go 7-5 this year. Just can’t. Williams helps you win games this fall more than Walker does.

I agree with a vast majority of that. OL play has been ***. Am I saying that Walker will be “cant miss”? Do you think Williams is the difference between 7-5 and 9-3 or 10-2? If you do, then I don’t see a problem. I don’t think it’s a huge jump from AAC to ACC, I was just callin it what it is. Williams is probably better that all we got but it’s 4 other people that got to block. My point is, Walker would be a long-term gamble could have other good lineman around him (current and previous recruiting classes) in the future. Whereas Williams is gone have these same dudes that couldn’t block my poodle as his supporting cast.

How many wins do you think adding him gets us? And I agree that Williams does provide more immediate help than Walker. But does he add enough for it to make a difference?
