Issiah Walker in transfer portal

Wow that has to be a record for fastest portal jump after signing....I guess our coaches should investigate this. Not in a position to turn down good players on the OL.

Nope.

Bru McCoy.

Went to USC for 2 weeks in January. Transferred to Texas. Transferred BACK to USC in May.

Nobody can touch that.

Some stuff going around about Telly Lockette being here now after he was his primary recruiter at FSU and how that is a potential problem that wouldn’t allow him to come here. Idk the extent of the rule, I feel like with Lockette being fired from FSU and getting here months before Walker entered his name in the portal then that isn’t the usual circumstance but what do I know. That would be quite the blow if THAT is the reason we can’t get the kid but it’s probably some bs anyway. I know there’s a rule about a school not being able to hire a HS coach to a staff unless it’s an on the field position to prevent that type of stuff but like I said above this isn’t an ordinary circumstance. Plus you have the Covid situation which could allow the kid to play immediately honestly.

I don't understand anything that you are trying to say here.

WHAT, exactly, would be the impediment with having Telly Lockette? If he was at F$U and then came to Miami, there is nothing wrong here, this is completely different from hiring a high school coach for a "no show" college job just to get a recruit.

Get Williams in for 2020, bring Walker and Moise in the fall for 2021. The last thing we need is true freshmen on the O line. Am I missing something?

What gives you the incorrect impression that this is even possible?

Hey, maybe the IC rules will be changed post-Coronavirus. But at this point, no, we can't take extra guys and "count them towards 2021.

IC rules count as of the beginning of the fall semester. "Waiting" to sign a kid doesn't give you extra ICs, or "future" ICs.

Are you talking about Inside the u? If so, it was clear they are just speculating.

“This is me speculating a bit, but I don't think Miami would take Walker without thinking long and hard about it. Remember, Diaz has said time after time that he and his staff wants kids that want to be at Miami and Walker had his chance to sign with UM, but picked UF.

I’m not saying that the Hurricanes won’t pursue Walker – sounds like they will – but just noting that’s something to keep in mind with all of this as Diaz wants local recruits to value having a spot at Miami.”

no - it wasn't them last night but I saw this morning Ivins also said that. Maybe that's what they are being told from inside Hecht now. Things have been kept much closer to the vest this year.

That would make sense if he was transferring from FSU but he didn’t even go FSU. And Lockette has nothing to do with UF

Have a buddy at UF that is going for a degree in sports medicine and as such has some exposure to the football team and staff. Take it with a HUGE grain of salt because I have no idea who his sources are but he said it’s sounding like Walker isn’t fond of the atmosphere on campus and the coaching staff, John Hevesy in particular, and is wanting to be around his family.
Again not sure how reliable the source is but that’s what I’m hearing.

With that said, we need all of the help we can get on the line so I’m all about taking this kid. Could be a high level starter for multiple years.

lol of course the atmosphere is terrible. We are in a **** pandemic

Like I said at the end of my post...it’s all bullsh!t anyway. It’s moot and is now a non story because you are exactly right.

Cant we just take Pat Mahommes and count him toward the c/o 2022? That would solve our qb issues too.

Why not take him why? Its not like we a great offense and have ton of talent behind it. We need to have dogs on the oline and as many bodies as we can get. Blueprint special Saban and Georgia always recruit great Olineman and Dlineman why bc they help when you the game.

All good, my man.

Now if we could just get posters to realize that we can't violate the existing IC rules to use "2021 IC slots".

What really is this new culture thing Diaz is referring? Stop BRING IN THESE PRE MODONNAS and recruit kids with fire up in there A....?

If it's between Ike Jr & Jarrid Williams, you take the experienced veteran OT with several starts & continuity with D'Eriq King over a TF who already bailed on his team just a couple months up in Gaynesville.

These South FLA kids wanna drink the Gaytorade so **** bad, let'em. He could've just signed with Miami to begin with in the first place, but nooooo "uF iS sO mUcH bEtTeR tHaN mIaMi!" Let them learn the hard way.

Whatever Coach Lash & Justice decide I'll agree with it, whether they take him or not. Fans are always desperate for talent but if he's not mentally tough enough & comes with a whole bunch drama, no need to waste a scholly on a kid who'll be a bust here anyways.
