Is it just time to accept we’ll never be “back”?

Haha yes I’m an optimist and late to the party I guess. Guess I’m confused - on here I either see people talk about crazy expectations or people are resigned to my thoughts from the OP. Starting to think people who believe we can be great again are nuts.

Might be time to accept that reality, but this next season will show what we are. Teams have rough seasons sometimes when going "all in." Thing is, the elite teams don't stop just because the season didn't go their way. They recommit their resources and try again.

What will we do? Do we pick up our ball and go home with the expectation that this is as good as it will ever get? Or do we recommit and put the best product on the field we can? Everything can, and should, be under scrutiny right now, from the top down. Nothing should be considered safe, or untouchable, not even Mario. If Miami truly wants to be a force, invest, and put the best product on the field period. Commit to do this every year and you will eventually break through. Don't commit, and you'll never be back.

But unfortunately it's not up to us as fans... It's up to boosters, NIL, and admin to determine our fate.

It’s over and has been. The people in charge are unable to hire competent coaches and build a competent program.

Remember these same idiots were gonna roll with Diaz had they not gotten Mario. They hired Mario because of his high school and other bull**** and not because he’s a good coach. The school continues to be inept at every turn.

Year 4 and people are crying about needing better players for a coach whose alleged strength was recruiting. Lmfao what a joke

we don't have a wizard in place who can identify and hire the right coach

we haven't had one in decades either

i don't care if the UM president or the head cook at Columbus HS is choosing, they ain't making good choices.

that's a major reason i was hoping we would have hired the former Louisville AD rather than Rad (yes, i know Rad isn't choosing but maybe a strong AD could locate and hire some real coaching talent that does not have to be somebody who played here, served lasagna here or mopped the floors here as a condition to getting hired).

2017 2.0.
Richt would’ve led this team to the ACC title and playoffs with ease. That team’s defense had way more heart than this D. The offense was very inept that season. We had a 3 Star catcher playing QB. That kat had like 40 yds passing total in the first halves of those last two games we played that season…

Lol I accepted that years ago broski, most of you guys would be better off once you realize that we’re an afterthought in the cfb world..I’m just glad I’m old enough to have seen us dominate the sport but that ish is over

Call it accepting mediocrity, I don’t know but is it time to accept UM is never going to be a player on the national stage again? Some say the program is cursed, I say it’s just a matter of a small, private university, with a relatively small alumni/fan base and donors that can’t keep up with the big boys.

Although we’re spending more we always just seem to fall behind what other serious programs will do to win and win big.
This is one of the most true, heartbreaking posts I've seen on here in a while.

I honestly said to myself someone important needs to sacrifice something for us to ever even taste what 1983-2005 was like again.

**** naw that ship sailed. Just enjoy the games, or don't. I don't care and it doesn't matter.
